Yeah he’s having a great year but he was a 3rd round pick and a bit of a project. Could’ve been exciting, or he could’ve been Jack Rathbone #2

This trade had a lot of quantity, but quality wise it isn’t a whole lot more than we got for Horvat

The 1st round pick is potentially in the late 20s to 30s compared to the 2023 pick which was on the early teens at the time of the trade. Kuzmenko’s value is at an all time low and probably not worth much more than Beauvillier as they are both kind of a cap match. Raty is a bit more valuable than Brz and Jurmo and the 4th are kinda just there

I’d say fair deal. But I like it a bit more for the Canucks. Also the whole thing about Lindholm being an Allstar even after getting traded, in other words the same as Horvat but reversed, is hilarious

Monahan is the best middle 6 center available. He's better than Henrique. Monahan can be had for 2 Million, even with Henrique retained at 50%, he's still 2.9 Million. Colorado, Winnipeg, NY Rangers are the teams known shopping, and there's still 4 weeks until the TD so there will be more buyers. What can be said about Monahan? He's a UFA which is ideal for the teams who want to win now.

Henrique is better at EV, and that's what most teams are looking to put either of them in, Henrique is also the better defensive player

And no term isn't ideal to team wanting to win now... Most teams prefer term or pending RFA to have multiple cup runs...

I guess that's subjective. Most teams don't have the cap space to take on players for multiple years which is why UFA's are the ones dealt for ransoms, and guys with term aren't usually dealt. Monahan will absolutely get a 1st (or equal to one) and Henrique likely won't.

Arguably orielly returned a first plus. Granted that deal had accairi and some other picks/prospects. Orielly was having an awful season in stl.

The price is simply how bad they’re needed. Monahan at 29 and his current performance puts him up the list. I’d ask for stastny value - 1st and b tier prospect.
