Who's saying this? Can't see why the Sens would move Chycrun but guess they need help elsewhere in the lineup, still is surprising to me though, figured he was getting a long term extension when the time came.

There's a guy on Twitter named Lalime's Martin who posts Sens rumors, a lot of people says he has an inside source in the dressing room.

Lmao I know things are bad in Ottawa, but it's never "trust Lalime's Martian" bad. Did he take some time off from from telling his followers to come find him and tell his date how cool his Twitter is long enough to make a fake rumour?

A lot of good picks in the teens this year:
Yakemchuk, Connelly , Artamonov, Chernyshov, Greentree

I think it depends a lot on where the Caps are at the deadline (and where that first looks like it will end up) but I think this is in the ballpark, they were rumored to be one of the last few teams in on him last deadline before pivoting to Sandin so I think the interest would still be there.

Only other thing I'd say though is that OTT gave up 11OA, +1year 2nd, and +2year 2nd to get him. That is the absolute ceiling on what he will bring them back IF they decide to move him. Just look at the Debrincat deal this summer to get a comp.

They probably could’ve got more for Debrincat if they made him sign the QO and traded him at the deadline

Take what LM says with a grain of salt. He has an "in" (AKA he golfs with someone from the Sens organization), but has been very wrong in the past and instead apologizing, doubled down on the rumour and lost a lot of his credibility doing so.

Keep in mind the Washington 1st is currently 11 picks higher than the Dallas one

If they move him, they'll never come out ahead in the deal. Just another catastrophic failure of this team

If you can get Chris Tanev on a short term deal and nab a very good prospect in the draft it’s a win

I’d would take Washington package by a nose. Better prospect, better pick. Unless Faksa is filling a need.

Fundamentally they gave up a mid-high pick (7oa) and a high second (39oa) for him and got back a first rounder that was almost guaranteed to be in the 20-32 range, if they held on to him until the deadline I wouldn't see them getting that much more for him -- maybe that 4th rounder gets bumped up a little. If they move Chychrun this year I would think teams would apply the same logic as I'm sure DET did with DeBrincat -- OTT gave a certain amount to get him one year younger and with one more year of team control, why should they give up that same price?

I think the DAL package you have here follows that DeBrincat model pretty well: pick 25-32 + B prospect + cap filler. The Caps deal of 8-16oa + B prospect + 2nd is too close to what OTT gave up for Chychrun in the first place IMO.

That’s what you give up for 1 year of Chychrun not 2. I think it’s somewhere more in the middle
