You need to make sure you portray Monahan fully and accurately for what he is and not just cherry pick the 2 things he's okay at.

Monahan is really good defensively, you never watched him play. The only downside on Monahan is his health, skating and not very physical (but wins his puck battles). I would take Monahan on one leg over Namestnikov, Kupari & Lowry together

No he's not good defensively he's bad. His advanced stats show that Montreal and the players he plays with are worse defensively when he's on the ice. You may need to pay more attention when you watch him instead of watching with the red goggles on.

Dont worry they are a few points out of the playoffs and with Joshua Roy being on Monahan's line. They are a lot more balanced atm. Anything less than a 1st isnt worthwhile as Monahan can be an own rental on a core that needs his 'bad team' energy or whatever other wrong platitude you want to use.
