Fingers crossed Guerin doesn't take this as an opportunity to add a big piece thinking he wants to salvage the season

    Lol my thoughts exactly.

The immediate thought I had was Barrie outta NSH. He's been healthied and may be a good chance to boost his own stock. Would help PP, but nothing else so doesn't harm the tank. Eases Faber's workload.

    Thoughts?

No Sens need RD very badly. Can’t have a chance Levshunov or Parekh are taken before

I would prefer to give opportunities to prospects, Hunt, O'Rourke, unless your plan is to try to flip Barrie at the deadline again

I might be more interested in one of the C's or LD's anyway, so we wouldn't get in your way

I'm satisfied with Faber as our top RD long term, but we don't have any top of the lineup LD's in our system, and we could still use one more top end scoring forward

Yeah Sens need their Faber . Ugh I wanted him so bad at the draft and also from LA . He would’ve been perfect with Sanderson. But yeah Silayev or Buium would be insane for you guys. Or even Cayden Lindstrom but I think he probably goes at 2

For sure - I was thinking if he's free/near-free at his full cap hit, you could use him on the right-side with Faber and Bogo (maybe ship him out eventually too). Give Barrie PP time and maybe deal again with 50% retained at TDL.

Merrill and Goose can eat popcorn the rest of the year, and give Hunt/ROR a steady flow of games.

I figured we'd be drafting in the teens so I haven't really looked into a lot of the guys at the top of the draft yet. I like Helenius, Lindstrom, Catton and Dickinson but I need to look into some of the other guys

A lot of good names available everywhere in the top 12-13 . Except if you want a top pair RD , they’ll probably be reached on earlier as usual

I think the solution is to have Merrill and Goligoski both playing more minutes to help secure that draft pick. Use Spurgeon's LTIR cap hit to pick up an extra pick or two and let Faber continue to make his case for the Calder while he's out.

    Fair point ha.

I was thinking Barrie just bc he isn't good defensively so it doesn't materially change our fate, but he's at least offensively gifted so you get a few extra cool PP goals to help amuse. And there's of course the possibility to further flip w/retention.

Then you may as well just bring back Dumba. He's worse than Barrie this year, is already familiar with the organization and team so would be a welcome addition to the roster, and isn't winning you squat.

Oh, did I mention He's cheaper than Barrie and is a UFA at the end of the year too! No? Well I just did.

Ha, yeah the bring back Dumba train is getting some steam across the Wild socials.

I think Barrie is more marketable at 50% than Dumba is at 50%, so I'd prefer him myself, but it's pretty insignificant either way.
