NJ would trade Toffoli to a Stanley Cup team than a team like Vancouver.

Hawks decline. Can’t imagine they move Mrazek for less then a 3rd round pick if they choose to move him at all, there is a very good chance he gets extended.

Taking Vanecek’s contract would be another 3rd.

To make it simple:

Mrazek to the the Devils for Vanecek and a 2025 2nd round pick.

Which helps them get to the cap floor without being tied into long term deal that handcuffs them for the next 6 - 8 seasons.

It's going to take a 2nd or 3rd for Mrazek to be traded, and the Hawks still might not trade him and extend him instead.

It's already been reported that Colorado wouldn't move Byram for Gauthier. Holtz isn't on the same level as a prospect so why they're adding Drouin is beyond me

because holtz is currently a very productive NHL player and Gauthier will not play in the NHL this year?

Devils don’t do that Van deal without a 1st involved.

Kuzmenko guarantees us 7.5 mill on next years cap (we’ll be having rookie bonus overages carry over if we add salary)

Avs decline, they dont need any more wingers and if they move Byram they need to get a 2C back

Maybe something based around Byram and Mercer could work if the Avs think Mercer can be a full time C

Points for creativity, Holtz is sick. Avs need a center tho, so if they're trading Byram, it's for that.

I could be wrong, but your post leads me to believe you don't understand CHI's situation at all. If you think Foligno and Dickinson didn't earn their contracts and that it doesn't make sense for CHI, you aren't paying enough attention. Like SnowHawk said, if Mrazek at a $10M AAV helps CHI get to the salary floor without committing to any long term deals that will cause them problems down the road, and they aren't worried about moving Mrazek at any point within those two years, I would not be opposed. That AAV certainly seems a bit drastic, but we also need roster space more than cap space. Also, signing one large contract to get to the floor means CHI isn't creating road blocks and can allow a lot more young low AAV players to get ice time.

Great, still doesn't make Holtz as valuable as Gauthier

I didn’t say it did.

I said it’s a completely different scenario for the Avs.

The avs are trying to win a cup now.

Alex Holtz provides value in achieving that goal.

Cutter Gauthier does not

Byram gives them more value achieving that goal then Holtz does

If Edmonton or Columbus wants to pay the price for Chicago to take on those contracts then I’m sure they would but they aren’t taking them for free.

Also, there is a significant difference between Mrazek and Campbell, right now Mrazek is playing at average or above average NHL caliber, Campbell is playing at best like an ECHL netminder.

But ECHL goalies are what the Hawks need in order to tank another 2 years.... I know Campbell and Elvis are capdumps but even if u only get a 1st in return it's good cuz they won't be competitive for a while. Instead of gettin assets to take on capdumps Chicago signing their own..... Foligno 2 years 8million=capdump

Do you think NHL owners got rich because they like to waste their money?

Both Campbell and Elvis are owed $15m after this season, no owner is going to be happy with their GM if he tells them
I just spent $15m of your money and got only one 1st round
pick in return. We get to deal with fantasy trades on these sites but NHL GMs are dealing with the real world and real money.

The price for taking on $15m STARTS with a minimum of two
1st round picks.

Avs decline that one pretty easily. Drouin is starting to show some form and Byram helps them more than Holtz does. If Byram is traded it will be for a 2C or one they think is capable of being immediately.
