Oilers don't have need or cap for Rakell. That's a lot for the Canucks to give up for a rental....and that's what he is.

Canucks aren’t gonna move Joshua. He’s a big part of our 3rd line which has even one of the best in the league. And recent reports said they aren’t looking to lvoe Hoglander before. If Pittsburgh doesn’t want Kuzmenko I could see something like

1st + 2 of Podkolzin/Raty/Brzustewicz/2025 2nd for Guentzel. Maybe some smaller depth pieces on either side included as well

The only person who'd willingly take on that Rakell contract is Hextall, and that's one of the reasons he's not a GM anymore.

Thanks for the correction. Rust doesn't waive to the Oilers and Oilers don't have the cap for him. There are so very few trades each year, mid season, less than one a year where teams allow a player to negotiate a contract with an other team. But more silliness where a CF contributor tries to get way too much value for a UFA. Doubt if the Canucks even have cap for Guentzel as Pettersson likely has a big raise next season.

2. Smith is a nice player but not 1st round possibly lottery pick value
