Yeah Faber isn't going anywhere. He was always projected to be good, but he is exceeding all expectations this season. He's staying in Minnesota for as long as they can keep him

Even if Minnesota decided to do this deal, they have no cap room until 25-26 season.

That's basically 3 firsts and 2 seconds. Of course not.

And Minnesota STILL says no.

Imagine that.

If Minnesota had the cap space I’d think they’d have to say yes very reluctantly.

But they do nit

Faber will be Minnesota’s next captain and it’s not even close. He’ll be with the wild for life. I mean like McDavid or someone I’m sure, but nothing like this.

Sabres need to find the next Faber (who I personally believe is current in the Ducks organization)

EDIT - “DUCKS” (typo…sorry)

He is going to be a top dman in NHL, if he is not already. Once out from under the buyout…all that $$ will be plowed right in Faber. There will be regular Norris votes. He will wear the “C”. And his number will someday hang from the rafters….next to two cup banners. For a generation, he will be the standard. The measure for the modern dman will become known as “Fabermetics”. Tom Holland will play him in the movie.

(Or they could trade him for Isak Rosen and endure a thousand years of darkness).

I think you’re a fair bit higher on Faber than I am

I have always been high on Faber. I do think he will be an elite dman for a long time.

The modern dman, I believe, will be first and foremost characterized by their ability to defend with their skating. There are a handful of guys in the younger generation who really exemplify this…guys like Faber, Sanderson will be the sought out #1s.

I get that we’d have to overpay to get Faber,
but that’s ABSURD

AND they aren’t moving him anyways
