TDL 24

Created by: Nolan16
Team: 2023-24 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 23, 2024
Published: Jan. 23, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not sure how to make the cap space work. Want to trade schmidt but watching the bts it looks like hes a favorite. Don't need all 3 trades just a place to put 3 trades. With schief hurt lowry isn't a first line center and its showing. Chychrun would put jets into best d core in the league conversation. Dumping Iafallo contract during a year hes doing plus with stanley

Calgary doesn't do the first one.

Huge overpay for another LHD in Chychrun. The Jets shouldn't be paying more for him than Ottawa paid for him.

No need to do the 3rd trade.

Why would CHI pay a 2nd for Iafallo and Stanley?

Hawks decline. They aren't buyers. They aren't spending a 2nd on Iafallo. And Stanley couldn't be needed less in Chicago.

Iafallo showed what happened when he plays with talent and minutes and could be good for Bedard. If vancouver does well that pick is in the 60s. I just want to get rid of stanley

They have alot of early picks in the next 2 years and with the way the nucks have been playing that could be in the 60s

Maybe... But that is still way too much.

Just because Chicago has a lot of early picks doesn't mean they're trading them for garbage.

Should be 3rd or 4th considering what they got for him. But with Stanley and a 5th thought a Vancouver 2nd would be justifiable

Yep. And having lots of early picks is how a GM moves up in the draft to grab a player he wants. Or how a GM loads up on higher end talent. Iafallo is a solid player, but he's north of 30 now and won't be part of any playoff team in Chicago. Spending a 2nd on him is just poor asset management.

Hawks might give up a 4th for Iafallo. Jets can keep Stanley and the 5th. Hawks don't need either.

Oh ok. Well the answer is no, CHI isn't doing that. If they move 2nd round picks, it'll be for upgrades (unlikely), or moving up in the draft (more likely), not an old expensive guy, a redundancy on an expiring contract that doesn't help our rebuild, and a late round pick. We have plenty of bodies and way more than enough LHD.

No to all…
Drop Heinola and do the 1st + 3rd for just Lindholm, or include Tanev and add a small bit to your proposal from WPG
Drop the OTT trade completely. Jets don’t need overrated Chychrun
Drop the last trade, as there is zero reason to do it

Stanley is a serviceable depth D for the playoffs, there is zero reason to “dump” him

Especially not to a team that doesn't need serviceable depth D.

So therefore the Hawks should give up a 2nd round pick versus signing someone in free agency without giving up any picks? Seriously your logic is flawed

Salomonsson shouldnt be going anywhere. I like JC but with only one more year it doesnt make sense to deal a D that is team controlled and has a high upside
