There's no incentive for Winnipeg to mess with one of the best defenses in the league to add a player that does nothing for them and has an awful contract.

Atkinson would be an excellent upgrade on Appleton. WPG needs to address 2C tho and Schmidt has been playing well and is a big part of WPG's defensive corps right now, so I wouldn't want to break that up.

Interesting tho, cause now I want a Nino - Lowry - Atkinson 3rd line somehow.

Ristolainen is definitely a cap dump at this point. So to summarize you want to dump Risto and get Harris, Barron and a 5th back in return for a what will probably end up being a 20+ pick. Can’t see it happening.

I wouldn't trade Barron for a late 1st right now, nor would I trade Harris for Ristolainen.

Jets Decline
Our needs are 2C and RHD…not left defence, not left wing, and not right wing, not goaltender

Not at 5.875m AAV he wouldn’t. Way to much for a 3rd liner….I’ll keep Apples and his 2.167m

i don't think Montreal will take on a long term contract at defense for a 1st, what's the point of rebuilding if you don't have room for the kids to develop

lets say both reinbacher and mailloux will be next year in the AHL what will Montreal do in 2 years when they both be ready for the NHL ?
we have plenty of prospects so it this point thinking about the next stage is more important than accumulating more picks
