I don’t see the avs being a fit if the flames wanted current players

Edmonton declines both trades.

Don't need a small LD with a terrible playoff track record, can't afford his cap hit anyhow.

Don't need a $3M backup when Pickard and Rodrigue are sitting right there. Skinner is the starter, now and in the future. Coleman hasn't been worth his contract most seasons, and at 32 is unlikely to be again. Campbell can be bought out in the summer for $1.75 per season, no need to give up tons of assets AND take on significant cap liabilities to move him. Overall Edmonton is giving up too much for too little return

Not sure Sweeney trades Lohrei since that was his smartest guy in the room pick. But who really knows.

If it secures Hanifan, I think he does it. I’d also throw in a 2nd. If that’s not enough, I’m OK waiting until July 1st and taking my chances.

Canucks don't want the bread man nor want to part with Tyler myers RN. Also there is a good chance that kuzmenko will be traded separately as he still has *some* value.

If tanev is coming our way it's because we have moved Ian Cole or zadorov. It would have to be Lindholm & tanev for a package.

Avs aren't giving up their signed 3C for a rental 2C. Joke of an idea.

Canucks should trade a first round pick in exchange for Chris Tanev (CGY retained 50%).

terrible track record? he's gotten hurt a couple times, is that what you mean?

His career scoring rate drops by 50% in the playoffs, and he has been a minus player in the playoffs every single year (while being plus in the regular season every single year).

Ken Holland doesn't do diminutive defensemen, and there's a reason for that: playoffs.

the only real argument that he's not a playoff performer is that he has shown a tendency to get hurt. I still remain convinced that the bruins have another cup ring if he didn't get cheap shotted in the St. Louis series. He was a monster in that playoff run and him being out of the lineup hurt big time. I think you're relying too much on numbers here. The area where Grzelcyk is meant to help a team is around his own blue line, facilitating transition and preventing clean entry. Grzelcyk has pretty routinely been at the top of the league when it comes to doing that. In previous years, its been very noticeable when he's out of the lineup. This year has been a different story, but again, I'm in the camp of thinking that this is a blip on the radar rather than the beginning of a trend. Only time will tell.
