It’s going to be a rebuild. Wouldn’t you rather the 2nd round prospect and 2nd round pick over a 26 year old that while he has had some success, he isn’t looking great right now. And CGY was on the NTC so you know he isn’t long term. Just food for thought.

Flames likely put him first over the boards on the powerplay with Huberdeau, if you look at a ton of his goals last season he's incredible at finding space around the net, Huberdeau hasn't had anyone to pass the puck to through seams on the PP, could be a really really good pairing to regain some value in Kuzmenko and flip him at the deadline next season as a rental to someone looking to boost their powerplay.

Value is fine, but NSH would likely be able to find a similar deal with picks sooner than 2026

Calgary has a ton of wingers in their system. They would be looking for Center or D prospects. That is, unless it was for Perrault, which I doubt.

I think Kuzmenko would thrive in NY for what it is worth.

If I was Calgary, I would keep Kuzmenko until his contract expires.
I believe that Kuzmenko will have a successful year and a half in Calgary, and he will be a better goal scorer.
