I’m assuming Allen could be had at a cheaper price tag.
Sincerely,
Life long Habs fan

As a Habs fan, I also believe that Allen will fetch a 3rd round pick at the most.

Habs accept. Looks like a overpay for Allen in my opinion, and I'm a Habs fan....

You think Mittelstadt and a no value cap dump get you a top ten pick? Worse, our top ten pick this year plus our 2nd rounders for both this year's draft and next year's.

Do you honestly think Minnesota, who's in the bottom 10 of the league this year is going to wait until the 3rd round to make a selection in this year's draft?

They also already have Rossi and JEE in their top-six. So Mitts is playing 3C in Minnesota. Why would we pay that for someone who's going to cost more than we can afford, only to stick him into a 3rd line checking role?

Try and think about other teams situations and needs when making posts. It'll go a lot better for you in the future.

That might be enough if either player becomes available, if you remove the CBJ 2nd and remove all protections...and win a lottery this year.

It's getting really funny how these trades that are ripping the Jackets off for their most valuable players also still have them adding in picks on top to make it even worse for them.

Here is a counter offer
Savoie, Kulich, Ostlund, Strbek for Jenner and Jiricek.
Three NHL ready forwards and a RHD.

The sticking point is we still need a 1RD, and Strbek doesn't really project to be that as far as I know, and certainly isn't NHL ready. Unless we're getting a Jiricek-type back, it just doesn't make sense. He's under team control for years, under contract for 2 more, and his point of contention is literally just playing time. Management is out the door, he ends up an NHL regular by the end of the year, and this time next season we've probably forgotten he was even unhappy. No reason to trade that guy when he fills such a huge need.

I like Kulich, Ostlund, and Savoie, don't get me wrong, but unless they play D, it's not going to help long-term. Teams don't trade young, cost-controlled, U21 1RD. We're not going to be able to package them for a different one, and we can only play 12 forwards a night. That offer does nothing other than blast a gaping hole in our defense long-term, and create a new logjam of teenagers down the middle.

I like the Columbus players, you probably get lottery protection (ie top 2 only), nothing else. Add jokiharju if you like, we really should be looking at a guy like Roy for our d anyway.
