Creative moves, that's for sure. Curious if Van would still be in on Jake if he's made available. Pens could either be very active at the deadline or sit it out. All depends on how the next few weeks of play go!

If EK waives his NMC I say Chevy should do it.

Canucks cant afford Jake without trading off key players. We would not be able to resign him.Just my opinion

Yeah definitely not. He's been good for the pens despite the point production. Been really good on the PK and with puck battles.

Has Karlsson worn out his welcome already?! In any case, since San Jose has already retained part of his contract, only 1 more retention is allowed. You have it written as if 2 more retentions occur but this is impossible.

Well right now he's not gaurenteed to be signed. Alvin said hes either a rental or a long term guy and he traded for him going in with that mindset. Jake is the same way. One of them has to come back

Those kind of guys are available every summer for $1M or less. Nobody will want Acciari at $2 x 2, and they aren't giving up a 3rd for that.

Chevy would be wise to avoid EK's contract.

IMO no. Canucks were able to send two years of 5.5m Kutzmenko away,,,,which looks like a great dump for Canucks.
In this post,,,,Canucks send two regulars forwards and only receive one back. Yes Mikheyev is a mini cap dump, but Hoglander is a cheap regular.

My bet is on Lindholm. We have alot of players needing new contracts next year.In my opinion for what its worth.I think the Canucks are pretty much done Maybe a depth RD.possibly Tanev. Then bring up some AHL prospects for the playoffs.

Don't think the Canucks go for another Rental at this time, value is pretty even tho, that being said I doubt Alvin moves Hoglander and Mikheyev, you likely get one and a dman

I like the Jake trade here a lot, but the way I see it this is our last chance to go all in. I don't think we have a great chance this season, but I would understand if they want to give Crosby one last opportunity the way he is playing. I think it will largely depend on how we do at this deadline. But if we trade Jake it's pretty much over. It will be much tougher to win next year than this year with how old the roster is. And free agents won't want to sign here for long term, given how close we are to a rebuild, which would make it almost impossible to replace Jake. It will only get tougher to win next year. I think we either go all in now then begin the rebuild in the offseason or we just sell now and start the rebuild.

That EK trade isn't even worth the retention for 4 years.

There is literally nothing this team can bring in to make them a cup contender, and pissing those assets away will hurt a lot going forward.

    This team is a seller.

Lindholm isn't a rental, he'll re-sign in VAN if the reports I've heard are true. 5 x 6.5M would be my guess.
