That's because the Eriksson Ek contract is gold and Necas's effort is unpredictable. I'd rather have EK up the middle over Necas on the wing all day... Not even taking into account the contracts. I like both players but EK is just better all around

What is there to not understand? Necas is a one dimensional winger on pace for 23 goals and 55 points, Eriksson Ek is a Selke caliber center on pace for 35 goals and 65 points. Ek is on a sweetheart contract and is easily the more valuable player by a significant margin.

Guys, I’m on your side here. The OP just traded away JEE, signed Necas to $7x8 and only got a slight upgrade in draft capital.
