Correct me if I'm understanding this wrong, but Detroit's paying two 1sts and Jonatan Berggren (and the other meh crap) for Noah Hanifin and Kahkonen?

Overpaying by an entire 1st rounder here.

    DET Loses: '24 1st (top-10 protection), '25 1st (no protection), Berggren, Husso
    DET Gets: Hanifin and Kahkonen

I'd do Berggren + '24 1st for Hanifin, but I can understand the hesitancy then.

Yeah, it's worded very strange. And also, yeah, there's no way I'm giving up multiple 1sts plus some when we could just as easily call up Ed and have him figure it out.

Here's the sportsnet trade article if anyone wants to see it. It lays the trade out a little better than capfriendly can.

Am I understanding of this article? Both calgary and san jose receive a first round pick from detroit just different years.

No I think I just worded it wrong. Both Calgary and San Jose receive first round picks from Detroit. Calgary's two thousand twenty fifth and san jose is two thousand twenty four

Yeah it's Detroit losing two 1sts, Berggren, and Husso.
    Hard pass.

Why's Detroit paying for retention anyways? They have like 12 million in deadline cap space.

Detroit keeps it's 1st rounders and injured goalie and waits another year for their current glut of LHD defensemen to clear out.

If he really wants to be close to Boston he won't be signing with Detroit, he will be signing with Boston!!
