Yeah i'm sure that Trevor Zegras is dying to leave one rebuilding team for another, And once again Americans have no desire to play n Canada. Even a lot of Canadians want out as well.

So rangers get a meaningless pick, a 4th liner and not NHL ready prospect who they’ll likely ruin

In my opinion you give too much for Kakko who has never proven anything. Why give Savard?...But I like the rest

Why pay to dump Allen when you have 18 million is cap space ... give him away for free, keep the 2nd, trade Kovacevic somewhere for a pick if you must get rid of him. habs always have at least a half dozen players on the iR at any given time so hold onto players when cap space allows it.

he doesnt have a no move clause. And what kind of statement is that, didnt hellebuyck sign a massive extension to stay in winnipeg of all places? 10/10 would rather get dealt to montreal than like 95% of American cities lol

Get to play with his best bud who happens to be locked up long term. Also strikes me as a guy that would love the spotlight…Habs players are basically gods in Montreal.

Both are also good friends of Larkin, All 3 played in a golf tournament in Michigan. But Larkin will never be a Hab. So it means nothing.

Okay, that came out of nowhere. Larkin is also 4 years older than both these guys and most likely a Red Wing for life.

I feel like you read a comment and somehow wanted to plug a Detroit player into the conversation wink

According to him every player is a future Red Wing. Oh, someone’s 7th cousin’s wife’s dog’s sister was born in Michigan? Future Red Wing

Connor Hellebuyck, Quinn Hughes, Auston Matthews, JT Miller, Cole Caufield, Brady Tkachuk, Brock Boeser, Thatcher Demko, Kyle Connor, Neal Pionk, Josh Norris, etc. All American players who refused to sign in Canada and demanded trades back to the USA

Oh wait….

You realize how moronic you sound considering Caufield is American, and not only plays in Canada but resigned for max term to stay right?!

Thats like me saying no one will play in the Murder Capital of America in Detroit no do they want to Endure Flammable Water and an unstable Political market.
But as truly horrible as Detroit's become the last 40 years players will still want to play there, they just wont choose to live there.
Same can be said about any Team as Players dont define themselves by where they were born as more often then not they have blended families with multiple nationalities in their families.
Many Canadians marry Americans, Many Americans marry Mexicans and lots of us Both marry Europeans often that they meet in the Hockey World.
Pacioretty married a Russian sister of a Hockey Player for example while Price married an American fan of his junior team

Nilan loved it so much he still lives here.
Boullion loved it so much he still lives here
Brashear Moved here despite a long family history in USA(including his uncle being the inspiration for Men Of Honor move played by Cuba Gooding Jr he felt stronger ties to his Canadian home)
Caufield Loves it
Pacioretty Loved it too as he was closer to home then if he lived in the USA given proximity to the boarder
Petry loved it in MTL too until Trudeau shut down the boarder making his 2 hour quick commute less certain

Those are just the guys who stick out to me being a Habs Fan
Brashear i likely woulda forgot if not for the Cocaine Charges a few years back
But Nilans active part of MTL Media, Boullions been in MTL's system the better part of 25 years now and the other 3 are straight forward connections to the Habs.
But TML has a few Americans who coulda left them and chose not to as does every team.

For Patrick Kane for example he said only 6-8 teams were ever of interest to him
Boarders didnt define his interest, Hockey Market Size did as he wanted to play in a City where hockey was #1 or at least as big as a #1 market in the rest of the leagues cities like a NYR.
He was Eyeing original 6 teams as its where the Money was and the Market he wanted to be apart of. In Fact so far he's only ever played for Original 6 teams as its what he wanted.

Some players focus more on off ice and on ice like Pierre Luc Dubois, and it shows
Same could be said of Duchene in NSH where it bit him in the arse
Sometimes People who were reported beyond Anti Canadian like Tyler Bertuzzi , end up signing there.
Sometimes players like Quinn Hughes who outright said he didnt want to play in Canada hoping it discouraged teams from taking him
Well he turns out to become a Die Hard fan of living in Canada because they made him King basically with an Entire Large City who knows him and treats him like Elvis.

Situations matter 10/10
Zegras getting to play with Cole in one of the most Historically Dominant Franchises is big.
But being part of the Core that will bring home the 25th cup is huge, just ask John Leclair how long that high lasts.
We still pay to see him at NHL Alumni games on the East Coast til this date and according to him only East Coast remembers him like it was yestarday.
Zegras has the change at that Leclair level Fame in Canada

Mesar is as ready as Othman was
In a better position then Othman in the Standings as a top 3 guy on his team unlike Othman
I love Othman and its not a dig , he had a good team and played well but Mesar had a worse team and played better.
Just pointing out on Paper Mesar has as good if not better chances of making it as Othman did in NYR

That said Slafkovskys Best Friend and Future Center isnt Available.
They keep trading him but Hughes has said he's not being moved.
He's not looking to move youth out and said he'd rather give up picks to protect them.
He's focused hard on having both AHL and NHL systems stacked with both teams competing saying its the key to our success.
I just dont see how trading Mesar for Kakko helps us at all given what he's shown to this point in his career.
Kakko isnt Versatile nor is he Dynamic so its a big ask for a 3rd line Winger even in MTL's system.

You want to talk Lafreniere then maybe we're more interested in overpaying for him.
Or you guys got Gabe Perrault right? i'd trade some Quality for him given his familiarity with Fowler and Huston among others in our system.
But Kakko i'd give up Evans and CGY's 1st in 2025 , thats it.
Even then i think Evans will win a cup long before Kakko gets his crap together and think that pick could really haunt us

Are you comparing Othmann’s last OHL year? Lol yea he had a down in scoring/points because of a new team and focusing on his overall game to become NHL ready as well as focusing on team wins. Now he’s in the AHL where he should be because it isn’t an easy jump from OHL to NHL for any player lol

You ain’t getting Laffy or Perreault, so you can keep dreaming. Rangers don’t even want to trade Kakko because they need more RW, not less
