Why would the Jackets do that? Sure they are just 7th rounders, but we arent even trading that for 2 rentals.

Depends what we can get for him at $2M next season (retained). If we can flip him for a 2nd it might be worth it.
Problem with that is having only 2 retention slots to move Ryjo, Dvorak, and Savard (not counting any unexpected retentions).
For that reason I'd say it's not enough. We'd have to get the 2nd up front instead and try to flip him for a 4th with no retention next season.

Why is it always CBJ for McDermott in these Avs ACGMs?

The blue line is full for the rest of the year, no reason for CBJ to give up even the smallest asset for him. Just put the trade to Anaheim (1st alphabetically) and add an "any team" comment or actually send him to a team that might make sense.

Ah ok you missed the other guys off from part 2. I'd probably look to switch some pieces around in the NAS trade but Novak is definitely a good target imo.

CHI instantly bought out his contract. The buyout windows are closed until the offseason. Any team acquiring RyJo now would be stuck with him. So if COL want the cap relief for their playoff push, it’ll cost extra.

And considering RyJo has been hot garbage. No one is lining up to take him.

I guess we'll see. I'm content for the Avs to keep hold of him if that's the case.
