eichel got a proven top six forward, a top prospect at the time, and 2 firsts while being injured. pettersson is more valuable than he was at this point. Tkachuk got a top 25ish player in the league at that point in huberdeau and a proven top pair defensemen. Tkachuk is a winger, pettersson is more valuable

He only got 1 1st and a 2nd

and pettersson is LEVELS above where eichel was when he was traded. petey is a borderline top ten player in the league, and will be coming off of back to back 100pt seasons providing very good defensive value as well. eichel was coming off of a very risky neck injury that could’ve caused his play to fall off. luckily for vegas, eichel is still very good

Yes a massive 12 mill+ extension.

For example on the NJD deal.

Nemec+Bratt at 9 mill+ we'll add UFA Hanifin at 7.5 for 16.5 mill

Or Pettersson at 12+4.5 mill to spend on 2 UFAs

I'd take Nemec+Bratt+Hanifin in a heartbeat let alone a 1st on top.

Also, you will NEVER get full value back trading a superstar.

He isn't worth it compared to things like Bratt+Nemec at 9 mill combined, Power+Cozens at 15 mill combined, Point at 9.5, etc etc

id argue that he is worth all of those. in order to get a top 8-12 player in the league you have to pay them accordingly. in the NJ case, having a one-two-three punch of hughes-pettersson-hischier is certainly worth giving up bratt and nemec.
