Slavin is a top-10 D-man in the league... Devon is just carried by his partner. Devon couldn't make TDA look good but Slavin did. Slavin will sign his team-friendly extension in the off-season and we'll have to stop hearing about it

Toews isn’t carried by Makar lmao he’s one of the best defensive dman in the league. They make each other better that’s why they’re arguably the best dpair in the NHL

I know he's a great defensive d-man but a lot of his point production is more because of deployment (Bednar insists on playing the Makar pairing a lot with the MacKinnon line like 60.9% of his ice time is with MacKinnon) and his partner

Slavin is maybe marginally better than Toews but Toews obviously has the longer contract signed. Slavin is about the only guy in the league who MIGHT, just might, be a better D partner for Makar than Toews and the only guy I'd be happy about them 1 for 1 trading for. That part of the deal is pretty much a wash. Lehkonen is better than Necas as an all round player at this point (not purely points, and he should be as that's what age/experience does, it may only be 3 yeas but those 3 years make a difference) BUT Necas has a much, much higher (possibly elite) ceiling which I don't feel he's reached yet. The 'canes would be absolute fools to make this deal, and tbh there's no way Colorado chances it either.
