NYR can do something that foolish to sell seats.
But thanks to cap hit, that era is pretty much over.
Pettersson is franchise, elite whatever. But he isn't that good that he can fill the void that trade would leave behind.

Yeah it's a hard no.

Though something like Mika + small some adds could work for us.

I wouldn't expect that. You're looking at the Eichel trade

A first
A second
An NHL player
A top prospect

So in this case

I'd say Chytil
Othman

Van should get better prospect than BUF did do to fact Petey is not coming off a major experimental surgery

Vancouver is going to have their pick of packages. I would think the Red Wings would be all over this but they cannot offer NHL talent. It'd be picks, prospects and Bergrren

Van will insist on at least ONE current NHL player in their 20s that is at the very least middle 6

Pettersson would get a better return than Eichel considering he’s better than Eichel and isn’t in need of major neck surgery

Honestly Tkachuk is a good comparable. You get the top positional replacement from NYR (Zibanejad), a top 4 D (choice of Lindgren or Miller), 1st rounder and a prospect like Berard or Sykora. Say throw in Kakko for good measure?

Huberdeau (28 at trade) = Zib (30)
Weegar (28 at trade)= Lindgren (25) or Miller (24)
Schwindt = Berard/Sykora
1st = 1st
Good Measure = Kakko?

Thats fair to say but Mika has a full NMC and theses guys dont. Neither did Huberdaeu and Weager when the trade happened.
