Trades
1.
WPG
  1. Tuch, Alex
Additional Details:
Heard his name out there the last couple of days. A Jets reporter talked about him as a possibility tonight.

Highly doubt he is moved especially with 2 more years on his deal and the fact he is from Buffalo; however, Chevy is always trading for the guys we didn't think were available (ie. Paul Stastny).

Buffalo has soooooo many young forwards coming up through the system; Tuch is looking like the odd man out. If not now then within the next year or two.
BUF
  1. Iafallo, Alex
  2. Lucius, Chaz
  3. 2025 1st round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Just a starting point. Definitely need to add more.

Lucius: Has dealt with many injuries since his draft year and even before. Still has top 6 potential if he can get over these injuries.

1st rounder: It's a 1st rounder. It is useful. Could totally see the Sabers flip this pick to acquire a young RHD that they need.

Iafallo: Also from the Buffalo area. Could be a serviceable middle 6er then flipped as a rental at the deadline next year. Mostly just to make the money work.
2.
SJS
  1. Appleton, Mason
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Appleton is just a cap dump.

3rd is a fair price for Duclair
3.
WPG
  1. Carrier, Alexandre
Additional Details:
Top 4 RHD that is needed to push pionk down the lineup and play him with Samberg who he has played better with.
NSH
  1. Stanley, Logan
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
Early 2nd rounder and a young bottom pair d man

Tuch's name is not out there. What is going on? The only rumor with Tuch is that Boston and NYR called on him and Kevyn Adams said he was untouchable. Their is no deal for him. Everyone is just hearing what they want to hear. That offer is also embarrassing and doesn't address any of Buffalo's needs to start. Buffalo's needs have been repeated ad nauseam since November. They don't need forwards, they don't need prospects, they don't need forwards prospects, and they don't need picks.

The Sabres do have too many forward prospects coming, that part is true. Unfortunately they are all undersized skill players, there's nobody else like tuch coming, and we need like two more of him. We need to go the other way- trading young skilled forwards for shutdown right shot d, and possibly adding more two way forwards with grit.

I suppose that would be fine for Carrier, you could always just waive Stanley yourself tbh.

I'm done pining for a shut down defensmen like our lives depend upon it

We have been among the best teams in the league at goals against for months now with Johnson, Bryson, clifton and even Clague playing.

I agree with upgrading our bottom 6, but I'm not needing to move major assets for a defensemen

I can't see Buffalo moving Tuch, he's very likely their next captain.

BUT I gotta ask who is saying this is something the Jets are looking at? Cause this was mentioned to me by a pretty reliable source yesterday so makes me wonder, I still don't buy it though, just can't see Buffalo even entertaining the idea of trading Tuch.

Should keep Stanley, he's looking much better lately and Carrier is too small for playoff hockey, the Jets defense needs to get bigger not smaller.

The Jets also shouldn't consider paying to downgrade Appleton to Duclair. The Jets 3rd line is just too good to mess with.

Good points. If I may:

UPL has been outstanding which makes the defense better. That said, if Mitts is headed out, I'd like to see a top-4 d-man in return and I think that's a legit expectation.

Imo, you've got Benson in the top-9 plus Greenway and Krebs in the bottom-six. Add in Kulich, who should make the team, in a top-9 role and maybe Robinson (whom I think they should re-sign) on the 4th line. That's 5 of 6 right there.

Put it all together and the should be able to take a big step forward.

Edit: there you go. Byram. Good hockey trade, as long as his concussion issues aren't a thing.

It’s been reported teams are calling on Tuch
Also been reported that the Sabres aren’t even listening to offers & just shutting down the talk right away

Was watching the Kenny and Renny postgame show last night with Ken Weibe and San Reynolds and Sean mentioned that he believes this is the day that the Jets make their move and he thinks that they have looked into Tuch. Says it is the type of move Chevy would make. Term and not reported to be available. Says that Chevy is probably off to the side trying to wow the sabers into moving him.
