Like the signing. Sad he’s gone. Liked him as a depth Dman. Wish you the best of luck in Calgary and hopefully have many games in front of you

Not the asset I expected to sign an extension immediately after the trade, but hey, I like it

It’s not a ton, but not sure what he’s done to deserve over $1mil/yr, especially when he hasn’t even played a game for Calgary yet. I don’t really get the rush to sign him, but he’s committed now I guess and joins our growing pool of Russian Defensemen

Not exactly sure why he would get more than league minimum. Voted no because it's almost double what I would expect.

Love this for Miro have wanted to see him get a chance at regular minutes that he was never gonna get in Vegas. Hopeful for him being able to establish himself with the opportunity

Would expect a player to be playing regular NHL minutes to deserve a raise you'd figure

He's played 4 NHL games this year. Has 29 Career NHL games. Nothing he's done has proved he deserves more than league minimum.

I mean, the one thing he is, is an asset which is possibly more than the nothing he could have been to make this look even worse for conroy

Edit: he's a group 6 UFA

I guess the reason is that he's UFA and just got traded to an organisation he doesn't know. They had to do the salary bump to buy 2 years of free agency and makes the whole Hanifin deal looks better to get a guy under control for at least 2 seasons.

If you offered him the league minimum, he could just sign his qualifying offer and walk away in a year. They had to do the salary bump to buy a year of free agency. And it makes the whole Hanifin deal looks better to get a guy under control for at least 2 seasons.

Wouldn't it just be better to play the young guys next year? He's a good warm body for this year, but nothing looks like he'll be better than a depth player.

I don't know most of the players CGY got in recent trades, but they seem to have targeted players who can be part of the rebuild. Again, It doesn't look like they have any high profile RHD ready to graduate soon.

Edit: Also just learned Miromanov is a group 6 UFA this year, so this contract is 2 UFA years.

Wow, can't believe a) they've signed him b) signed him 1-way contract c) signed him for that price. Grushnikov plus Miromanov a new d-pairing?
