Probably a little less than no chance the Jets consider that.

Exactly. Everyone said Montreal wouldn't get a top prospect + a first like you and many other Montreal fans demanded. And did you? Of course not. You won't get a top prospect in this deal either.

So what is the Montreal news reporting now? How many offers of 1sts + top prospects for Anderson did Hughes turn down this TDL?

Can’t believe paid that with no retention for a guy they were going to buyout in the offseason. Don’t mind the add. But that 3rd should have been a conditional 5th or a 6th without any retention.

Sweeney didn’t even sound excited about it.
Maybe him and Neely aren’t seeing eye to eye.

To me it feels like there was competition driving the price up. Because viewing Sweeney's trades in recent years tells me he usually has a good gauge on players trade value.

Someone in that front office really likes the guy, and with the cap going up, maybe see Peeke's AAV & term as a positive.

Maybe but i doubt it. Had not heard of much interest around the league.

I think it was more urgency on Boston’s part having missed out on cheaper beefy d men earlier and there was nothing left combined with Forbort injury. Peeke is somewhat a RH version of Forbort.

Carrying on the tradition of #6 type d man making 2.5+ with term. Moore, Reilly, Forbort. At least it’s only 1 instead of 3 at the same time.

I don’t mind the add as much as others. He has size, blocks a ton of shots and hits people. Rest of his game is rather sketchy.

Will likely be RD3 next year blocking Regula.

I am sure Don tried to get a better deal, retention or lesser pick. Maybe it just wasn’t there. But i’d imagine Columbus would have been happy/shocked just to dump his full salary so it’s weird. Have to wonder if the Gavrikov fiasco ftom last year played into it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Lol most Habs fans said a late first and you cried about it every single time. We were right about Monahan, you were wrong, maybe next time though

And that first is late in the first round in one of the weakest draft classes in recent memory
