The inclusion of Kampf makes a hard pass for Columbus. Way, way too much term for a player with no roster spot on the Blue Jackets for where they are in the rebuild cycle.

you really wouldn't take the $3 million cap savings and freed up goalie rotation and just waiver him? if he gets claimed, great, if his hit is just buried, fine. term is exact same as elvis. my sticking point is that i dont think the value is that great.

I think that's a waste of time, effort, money, and a contract slot. Just move Elvis for nothing and bam, problem solved. No reason to take on someone else's three-year cap dump in the process.

We would have so much popcorn to buy to eat while watching Elvis vs Toronto media, after all. That would be a match made in hell.

In short, for each piece:
1. Columbus doesn't need to rush moving Elvis, and probably doesn't need to retain to get a team to take him.
2. Provorov will be worth more half-retained at TDL and not stapled to Elvis' contract.
3. Kampf is a nonstarter for reasons others have stated.
4. No need for Niemela, another RD who would be stuck behind Jiricek, Severson, Boqvist, and Gudbranson, in that order, with no path to the NHL anytime soon.
5. No interest in Robertson, another undersized middle-6 winger who isn't better than the 6 or so of those we already have.

If we want to move Elvis and Provorov, we can send Elvis to any number of teams in the offseason without retaining for next-to-nothing, and move Provorov for a pick at the TDL. No need to complicate things.

You guys sound like a playoff team not a bottom feeder that you are.

Yeah! Why should a team look to maximize the returns they can get on players they'd probably like to move? They should be leaping at the opportunity to take the Leafs' castaways.

You act like teams are lining up for a cap dump and maybe the 5th and 6th best prospects in a bottom-5 prospect pool in the league.

Like, I wasn't even debating value, just that it doesn't make sense for Columbus. Get off your high horse there cowboy.
