Does it make sense

Description
I wonder if LA would consider dealing Dubois before his NMC clause kicks in next year. He's had a bad year and that contract could be an anchor. Detroit needs another high-end center. Would it be worth the risk? I'm not sure what the return would need to look like but I'm guessing less than they Gave up since he is playing so poorly.

They would be smart to, but I think if Blake takes any more L's it's time for a new GM and any PLD trade is a L right now unless he supernovas to this stud center for like the next 20 games.

LA won't be trading PLD unless Rob Blake gets fired first. Blake's job depends on Dubois turning into a productive center on the Kings. If he gives up on him and ships him out, the next phone call he'll get will be the one telling him to pack his belongings and to clear out his office.

PLD is not the droid you're looking for. Move along...

That PLD contract is downright scary.

the term on the contract is rough, and thats a lot of money, but hes shown he can play in this league, and it would be the best 2C weve seen in years. If L.A takes Copp the other way, I'd see if there was a trade to be made

I saw PLD to Detroit and assumed this was created by FinishYourChecksGM...

If it was, Raymond would've probably been in the return though.

Aren't the Wings a thousand time better off, keeping Fabrri and Petry for one year, rather seven years of PLD. Plus Wings keep those three young assets.
8.5m can be spent a lot better than PLD.

Kane for three years???

59000 posts? I feel like I'm talking to Jesus here. My math tells me that's somewhere around 18 a day for 9 years!!!!???? Anyways the return was just thrown together, not sure what the package would be but if it doesn't include any high end assets I'm interested. The Kane extension was 3 years to keep the aav down.

The answer is No, Los Angeles would not consider dealing Dubois before his NMC clause kicks in next year. Yes, he's had trouble getting acclimated to his new team, but then again, he's spent most of the year playing with Kaliyev and LaFerriere and Turcotte as his wingers. Let's see what Jim Hiller does with him.

Nice. Pointless personal attacks to deflect from what is a God awful proposal.

What's incredible is that you apparently thought "The return" was the problem and not the fact that PLD sucks. He got paid and he's checked out. He's been a known bum since Tortorella outed him as one, and now that he got his $68M contract he's done putting in an effort.

LA is stuck with him.

Wasn't a personal attack. I'm blown away that someone on here has that many posts. Is it a highly unlikely and probably poor decision yes, but it's fun to pretend.

My assumption is if PLD is traded, it will be to clear enough space to sign Byfield to a long term contract and resign Matt Roy. This deal does NOT do that. They’ll likely need a 3.5 million dollar differential

If LA is willing to give up PLD for spare parts you don't want him.

Good morning I never thought it was a personal attack at all, just an informed (surprised) comment. I understand the "Jesus" reference, though certainly not true.
It's more that contributors of CapFriendly are in a "cult". Except the followers don't pay any money, just write about hockey or about topic they want. 99% of time just good natured banter among hockey fans. My 59,000 posts? Well that might be a bit insane.
