If someone was willing to take Hudson from us for a HAUL

Other wise no, we have Zellweger already

Calgary has no interest in overpaid underwhelming Dvorak. He's out for the rest of this season too.

You won't get Zegras for a late 1st and a tiny "offensive" defenseman either.

We don't even need him. Honestly we shouldn't go after him. And some delusional homers think he's worth a top 5 pick AND another 1st rounder on top of that💀

I believe, you yourself said Reinbacher or Slafkovsky + the Jets 1st. That is literally a top 5 pick + an additional 1st.

Yep, and they are either mentally preparing for the worst (which is fair enough) or Ducks fan in a Habs costume 😂

But even Hutson, not worth it for MTL

You Habs guys shouldn't be trading for Zegras because you simply don't understand him, as evidenced by the fact that you've never been able to accept that he's comparable to Cole Caufield. That's why you're constantly undervaluing him.

Nonsense. We've consistently said Reinbacher plus the Montreal 2025 second, or Slafkovsky even up, or a Beck/Mesar prospect plus the Montreal 2024 first.

This is as pathetically off as the Washington juvenile who said we'd have to add in a Zegras for Ryan Leonard swap. Lane Hutson hasn't even signed a contract yet.

There are homers, and then there are hopeless homers.

No you may have but I am pretty sure Landro said Reinbacher or Slaf + the Jets 1st way back in Jan or Feb

In response to yet another inadequate offer by MakingHistory, as recently as today:

https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/816900

Zegras for Hutson and the Winnipeg first isn't even as fair as Zellweger and the Edmonton first for Caufield, because at least Zellweger has some professional experience under his belt.

Look back through his comments, he thinks Zegras gets Ryan Leonard + 1st, is worth more than Necas and as I said I am pretty sure I remember him saying Reinbacher or Slaf + 1st. He has said a top 10 pick isn't enough, the guy is delusional, Hutson and a 1st is a serious overpay, comparing Zellweger to Hutson is like comparing Harris to Mintyukov and saying Harris is better cause he has more pro experience. Hutson is setting scoring records guys like Leach set and Makar, Q. Hughes and Fox couldn't touch.

I hate to break this to you, but right now, Zellweger is a better prospect than Hutson. Z was the best defenseman in his league last season.

Hutson is the best D man in his league this season, is a Hobey Baker finalist and actually set the NCAAA record for points by a D man originally held by a guy who is now a hall of farmer, perhaps you have heard of a guy named Brian Leach. When Zellweger starts breaking 35 year old records set by NHL hall of farmers, maybe you have a case for saying such things, until then, you just sound jaded.

You're wrong.

If there's one Montreal prospect who's going to disappoint, it's odds-on to be Lane Hutson because of how you Habs guys have overhyped him. I'd be willing to bet that he won't be in the top 3 contenders for the Calder Trophy when he breaks into the NHL.

I mean, he can't be "wrong" it's just an opinion. Objectively speaking though, what Hutson is doing at the NCAA level is more impressive than what Zellweger did in junior.

Using an NHLe model, the NCAA is .194 compared to the WHL which is .141... using that conversion:

Hutson Projected WHL: 194 pts in 110 GP
Zellweger Actual WHL: 158 pts in 110 GP

I know NHLe is not perfect, but it contextualizes things a little bit. While I won't say definitively that Hutson is better than Zellweger I certainly wouldn't be making the argument that Zellweger is better than Hutson, and the argument that Zellweger is more valuable because he has 12 games of NHL experience holds no weight... that means nothing other than Zellweger was drafted a year earlier.
