Team: 2023-24 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 20, 2024
Published: Mar. 20, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Since I've seen a bunch of Shane Pinto trades here. He's not being traded, period.

However, if he was going to be dealt this is what it would take from every team. This is not intended to be realistic, merely what would make it worthwhile for Ottawa.

I like Pinto but I think you have seriously over valued him in a number of these trades....

    Yes!

    That was my point.

If you read the explanation maybe you'd understand what the point of this ACGM was.

Sure seems like you are telling all teams to ante up their offers. I think I'd fold if I were buffalo. Too much of a gamble

What I'm saying is that teams will only get Pinto if its a significant overpayment.

I've seen way too many Islanders fans offering Pageau, Wahlstrom and a 1st for him and that just doesn't make any sense for Ottawa.

I said that with a poker face. I know this site can be a crapshoot, but every once in a while you go all in and win a big pot

yes I did. my point is you are off base. for staios to consider it would be less for almost every single one of your trades. While your point is its not going to happen my point is that it can and for less than what you have here.

If u just made your point clear from the start,
then u probably wouldn’t feel the need to respond in a condescending fashion

Dude, in no world does a 3C land you a top 5 prospect in the league, there's "he's not for sale" and then there's completely out to lunch.

What I'm saying is that teams will only get Pinto if its a significant overpayment.

I've seen way too many Islanders fans offering Pageau, Wahlstrom and a 1st for him and that just doesn't make any sense for Ottawa.

I understand the point of trading Pinto only for big overpayment. But try to make the returning packages somewhere comparable.

Levi for example ain't anywhere near R. Andersson, Dobson or Bouchard in value. Moving these Ds you're more likely talking about Stützle right now, not Pinto.

yes I did. my point is you are off base. for staios to consider it would be less for almost every single one of your trades. While your point is its not going to happen my point is that it can and for less than what you have here.

My point is there's zero logical reason for the Sens to trade Pinto, especially given the fact that Norris has serious injury problems.

So the only way he gets moved is either if the return is an UPGRADE at forward (someone better than Pinto), or helps solve one of our other problems (a young NHL goalie or RHD).

Dude, in no world does a 3C land you a top 5 prospect in the league, there's "he's not for sale" and then there's completely out to lunch.

Pinto is tracking to be a high-end 2C with strong defensive skills, that's pretty damn valuable if you ask me.

great and if you want to upgrade on pinto a current 3rd line center at about .5ppg you will have to add not the other way around. so if the sens want to make improvements absolutely you should look at upgrading on pinto it will just have the cost on the other side of the equations you have above. the Sens will have to add not the other way around.

Pinto is at 0.76 PPG btw. And everyone can see that he's taken huge strides in his game and will not be a 3C for long.

I was referring to his 2023-24 stats.

That's like saying Zach Hyman is a 0.68 PPG player, like yeah technically that's his career PPG but he is clearly an 80 point player now.

my point is 26 games is an extremely small sample size. foegele had 15 points in 15 games during the oilers hot streak not sustainable.
pinto might be able to sustain higher who knows but 26 games doesnt give the track record to show that.
Hyman now has a track record to show he can sustain that pace.

So no i would not call him a .7 ppg player until he can establish it consistently. for now you have to use they his career as that would be what his next contract will be based on.

You want teams to pay a premium for a 3rd line player?

He's definitely a 2C lol. Josh Norris would be a solid 2C on a lot of teams and Pinto is already better than him.

Not many people watch Sens games lol. Pinto is great at face offs, good defensively, and capable of being a 60-70 point player. He's going to be a very good 2C for a long time.
