Columbus and Carolina both pass on the Jiricek/Necas swap. Does nothing for Columbus, who's full of talented wings and has no other RHD prospect, and also does nothing for Carolina who's full of currently-better defensemen and dearly needs a scoring winger.

Why are we giving up pieces for KK? He's not an improvement on anything we have.

That's alot for nashville to give up and gamble that KK ends up figuring out his offensive game.

He's still very young. Same age as Pärssinen. Just being paid well above what he should be at this point. Id take a game on him but not by giving up novak. That contract will be easier to deal with as the cap jumps over the next 2 years even if his production doesnt change much. Parssinen and a 2nd seems fair to me but im not convinced he is much better than what Parssinen ends up.

Well that's exactly my point, ROR Novak Sissons (anyone for 4C) and KK isn't a jump above what is already in place. As you said Parssinen very well matches or surpasses and he's an internal option.

I don't think Drury will sign a 6 year deal at such low AAV, he can likely get a better amount on a short term deal and with the cap continuing to rise get more on his next contract as well.

I don't see NSH overpaying for Kotaniemi and his rough contract, just so CAR has enough cap space to bid against them for Carrier.

Every piece Nashville is sending in the trade for KK is worth more to Nashville than KK and his awful contract. I don't see why or how you thought that was fair value for a guy who hasn't proven he can be a capable middle six center, but is still getting paid almost 5 mil a year.

Orlov probably comes cheaper if done in off-season….maybe more if done at deadline.
