As awesome as the prospect of Stutzle in union blue would be, I don't think we can afford to lose Jiricek given our situation at RD.

Also, while that's a decent offer for Saros, I don't think that'd do it. Deferred and/or late 1st picks don't really entice. Even though it's very good value.

I'd take this deal in a heartbeat. Would just make KJ expendable in the search for another top 4 RD.

That's the thing, tho - top-4 RD is already a need, and taking this deal would make current/future top pairing RD also a need. (And I think KJ is already potentially expendable in the pursuit of that endeavor before acquiring a Stutzle.)

It is currently a need, and there's no guarantee Jiricek is the answer. Stutzle however is as close to a guaranteed top 3 winger the team is going to get and it gives them assets to move for a more certain RD fit. The only way the Jackets regret this move is if Jiricek turns into a legit yearly Norris contender and I just don't have faith in that with how his skating is and the trend towards faster, more mobile defensemen.

We take it and sprint to the phone to call head office. We can move anything other than Fantilli for a right shot defender.

OTT dont do nay of these, were do i begin with the horrendously horribly bad trades....

PHI trade: late first, 4th liner and a meh prospect dont get chych, OTT declines

CLB trade: Stu has 1000x more value than a prsopect that even his own team thinks and good enough for the NHL, OTT declines, not only that thew NHL would bad staios from the NHL for life and force Audlauer to sell the team if he was involved in such a bad trade.

NSH trade: saros aint remotely close to being worth that OTT declines.

OTT is not getting celebrini and neither is SJS or hawks, the NHL will GIVE, yes give, the draft is not random the NHL chooses who gets 1st now, to PIT because the crosby ere is comming to a close, just like they game bedard to hawks because the kane/toews era was over

I suppose that's fair. I guess I just have more faith in Jiricek than y'all do and that hole has been looming large on my mind for a while now.

Stutzle shouldn’t be the casualty for a Dman. Shades of the Stone for Branny trade

TIMMY FOR JIRICEK AINT NO WAY MY EYES ARE SEEING THIS MAN, AINT NO WAY LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Look, I would be willing to give our 1st this season for Jiricek, but not a god damn super star center on a good deal.
