Respectfully I wouldn’t do Barron like that. He has a real top4 potential. Offensive game is not bad at all. He’s stuck behind Mailloux Xhekaj Guhle Reinbacher. On the other hand, Owen Beck potential is limited. Would be EXTREMELY surprised to see him become a top6 guy. He’s an elite shutdown 3C who wins every faceoff and doesn’t make mistakes at all. He’s nice to have, but if you want a better prospect, there’s Oliver Kapanen, probably the most underrated prospect. Just look at what he’s currently doing in the LIGA playoffs right now. Against men!! It’s impressive.

Brother you have McGinn on your 4th line I don’t think Dvo would hurt you with the 30M in cap you have.

Eh, I mean, it doesn't HAVE to be Beck, just a beck tier piece. I'm not as warm on Barron as you are, if there was true top 4 potential there, I think Colorado would have been more hesitant to move him. And claiming he's buried behind Wifi isn't a great statement for him.

Maybe Kapanen, not super familiar with the Hand prospects outside what I can read on dobber prospect and THW.

As to having McGinn, yeah, he's technically on the roster, buts he's spent almost as much time on IR as Zegras. We were hoping he'd help out the bottom 6 but it hasn't materializes, he doesn't fit our new system at all.

Dvorak got a contract that was supposed to see him grow into a 2C, but he never really took off and now is an overpaid 3rd liner who's not healthy all that often, and his real money owed sucks compared to his cap hit, which isn't great for a team with poor gate revenue.

Not getting 5th OVA for Zegras, one of Eiserman or Lindstrom are likely available and they have an equal or higher ceiling ot Zegras, so we just take our chances with them.

Also, not sure why you guys all of a sudden are sure it’s 5th overall. You’re sitting 6th from the bottom, tied with OTT who’s 7th, and even in 6th the odds are higher that the pick is #7/8 than 6th or better

Ottawa's winning % is similar and are tied with us in points but Ottawa and Arizona both have better records over the last 10 games and easier schedules ahead (Montreal's has the 2nd hardest remaining schedule)

If Arizona passes MTL and OTT stays ahead, MTL has a 58%+ chance of drafting 6th/7th. And that’s as far down the standings as they can reasonably fall. The odds are significantly higher that MTL is 6th-8th than 5th+
