Buffalo isn’t going to trade an elite prospect like Kulich unless they’re getting an elite piece back

Wtf would Buffalo do ANYTHING like that for?

1- we aren’t trading Kulich
2- we don’t want a 3rd pair guy like Barron

Horrible proposal, just gross

Not even close for Pavel Buchnevich.

And Backlund and his 10 team trade list isn't waiving for Montreal.

Kulich is great but why?
Never Sell low on Prospects to protect pending UFA's
If need be we move Savard and Kovy this summer or after camp
Heck we should even explore Matheson being moved before moving a Guhle,Hutson,Barron,Xhekaj,Mailloux,Reinbacher or even a Engstrom right now

Its the difference between trash returns you'll get cause no one's giving up a Kulich for Barron right now.
Matheson is great but replaceable, Savard is great but replaceable and Kovy is great but Replaceable
Same goes for Harris and Struble. There's just bigger and better here who can jump in and same as Struble leapfrogged a lot of prospects in our depth Pool ... so will Enstrom very soon.

Easier to sell off Veterans at the Draft for capable while teams are still shell shocked after their playoff defeat or sweep in some cased.
Matheson right now would land a decent return to the rights team like to EDM in a deal for Ceci to upgrade their PP and Defense with a package centered around a 1st or Holloway IDGAF which TBH
Savard might have to wait to the TDL to find value unless MTL is willing to RS all year then we might find ourselves a Petry like trade to work with that landed us Matheson
Kovy we could find a home easy enough at the draft for an early 3rd round pick and a prospect forward who's in a Max Jones type situation where the team doesnt plan to qualify them giving MTL first crack at it basically for like a week ?

Harris and Struble you wait to the TDL to sell after they had some ice time to shine a bit more.
By this time next year we could have a whole bunch of pieces built up and a lot of young D playing anywhere from their 1st to 4th years in the NHL next season.

Backlund declines going to Montreal. If he leaves Calgary at all it'll be for a top contender.

Okay, well the AGM title alone is definitely worth the price of admission... but the Sabres and Blues obviously don;t consider those.

I do NOT agree at all with trading Matheson - he is turning into an elite offensive d man.

It’s 10 team. I am willing to venture that Europeans do not put the Canadian teams on this list generally unless it’s Winnipeg. Montreal is a great city, Euros love it here - almost like the motherland. So no. No soup for you!

Not a ton of French Europeans coming over. Calgary is significantly closer to Finland and Sweden in terms of geography, and Vancouver is the nicer than any other city of you can afford it. Edmonton and Winnipeg are obviously at the bottom of the list.

The Habs have the goods to get Buch, but they'd need to do way better than an all picks package with the best piece deferred to 25. Think a 24 1st and a legit top 4 young Dman, the closer to NHL ready the better. Or if the young Dman is good enough, perhaps the 1st can be downgraded or even eliminated. I just don't think you're going to want to give up the guys who could get it done for you.

Oh... and ABSOLUTELY not Mailloux. Under any circumstances.
