Mtl 2025

Created by: Headhack
Team: 2024-25 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 1, 2024
Published: Apr. 2, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Dvorak trade bait deadline

Not sure about Colton for Armia, really like Kovacevic maybe something coming from The Avs. But having Newhook centre with Armia on the wing works fine also

Buyout Petry to free retain spot, flexible on picks

Buffalo Habs are gonna rip my head, wouldn't be against offering Reinbacher and tweak the trade, however this is for fun probably not even possible.

Evans after 2024-2025 wouldn't have space on the Habs anyways with Beck coming

Buffalo and Detroit. laugh and pass.

a 2 year buyout on Petry only averages $1,000,000 per year for 2 years, We sure as hell aren't trading Dimitri Buchelnikov for that.

If your 2nd favorite team is really Buffalo,
u gotta know that trade is brutal

Look at it from their point of view & tell me how that trade helps the Sabres

Sorry dude, but it’s AWFUL

Avs decline. Kovacevic would be a good add but no interest in adding Armia even with retention.

No need or space for Armia at 1.7m. I would rather spend that towards Duhaime, Trenin, or cogs/parise

I don't think Tage is going back to his 2022-2023 season shooting 16%, In My first draft I also included Reinbacher.

I think 2 x high 1st, top goalie prospect, 2nd and Top 5OA RD to match your amazing left D's is value wise faire.

However I said value wise, I totally understand that Buffalo would never do this because it would set them back 3-4 years and after missing 12 years straight the playoffs probably not where you wanna go.

This trade definitely has more value for Montreal In the short term

If Armia were a center and skated better maybe but that’s an easy no from COL.

Fowler is legit but you don't trade for him when you have Levi. I see your pov but this does not help the Sabres in any way.

Yeah, even IF the value was correct,
we aren’t looking for futures- trying to win now
So we just aren’t trading good players for picks/prospects

For me and i'm Avs Fan i say yes. Armia$+ Trenin $= Colton $+Kirivanta $or every bottom 6 under 1M. Armia play very well this year and I like Trenin game. Kovacevic can help us on 3Rd and we can trade Manson for signing Walker.

the funny part is if they buy him out montreal gets whacked with the same buyout penalty.

I think a better and more cost effective rd is Makar, Manson, Malinski than Makar Walker, Kovacevic. If Kovac was a lefty or plays the left well, I'd like him as a JJ replacement. I really like our current rhd option, including Clurman. Manson is much harder the replace than Walker and might even be cheaper. Also as its obvious, I don't want to block Malinski. Little late but I need to watch if Kovac can impact the play like Manson does away from the puck and on the pk.

How many teams were looking for a tough, pk right shot defense man with offensive upside at the trade deadline? It’s one of the hardest positions to fill. Walker is good but part of his value is that he can complement a big bruising LD which are inherently cheaper than their RD counterparts. Walker may get 5m but Manson is probably worth 5.5m+ given the lack of similar players.

I’m against the trade because the pieces don’t work. I’m in favor of trading Colton but Armia doesn’t fill a need and would take up too much cap on the 4th line. Additionally I want to see what malinski can do full time next season as 3 RD. I was really impressed with his game this year.
I have been a little disappointed with Trenin. I thought he would be more noticeable on the ice. Not sure he is worth much more than he is making now but I’d bring him back if the price was right.
Manson is a better player than Walker, more valuable to the Avs and probably cheaper.
