Even though his contract is awful Nurse is still somewhat useful. Can’t see Edmonton moving him and a 1st to save minimal cap next season and get significantly worse by adding two bad player making a combined 9M

Savard is a great 5/6. Infinitelty better than ceci or kulak. He has been traded for a first multiple times for playoff runs for a reason. uninspired comment

idk I'm taking Ceci over Savard. And a #5/6 isn't worth offsetting Nurse and Anderson (and a 1st included wow)

cmon

Savard is 33 now and hasn’t been good for 3+ years. He’s a meh bottom pair dman

When was the last time Edmonton won a playoff round. Ceci over Savard? They need guys like that - he is top 5 in blocked shots year after year.

Also frees up space for Drai resign. Savard is on last year. Anderson only has two left beyond.

the term on Nurse's deal makes this not worth it. Same idea as when someone suggests Gally/Andy for Huberdeau, sure you get the better player but for way longer and more money

It’s worth it… if Crosby is actually ready to move on they do it

what does crosby have to do with this? and I'm of the belief that Crosby isn't leaving Pittsburgh anytime soon, so don't get your hopes up

Nurse brings to the table what Anderson, and Savard would not. We are not trading him, and he is not waiving for Montreal either. Trading Nurse creates a big hole, that I don’t want to have to fix. Anderson is not good either, and probably wouldn’t even do much in Edmonton.

Nurse > Anderson ALL DAY, Anderson is a dump. That is an awful trade for Edmonton. Dvorak is a dump too, zero chance he brings back any assets, let alone a 2nd.

Nurse may be a tad overpaid but he's still a good first pair dman, unless were getting a first pair dman back I can't imagine a trade working including him.

Your fellow Montreal colleagues are constantly trading Jordan Harris to Los Angeles for a third or the equivalent, Dvorak will bring you a fourth if you're lucky, and although Edmonton MIGHT exchange Cody Ceci (who's played pretty well for them) for David Savard, Nurse, the first and Anderson have nothing to do with anything. Anderson is an expensive cap dump (I see that he's playing on the fourth line tonight) and Nurse is a top-pairing defenseman on a playoff team -- just because his cap hit is $9.25 million doesn't make him a dump.

I can't imagine that Kyle Dubas is entertaining any thoughts of trading Sidney Crosby unless Sid demands a trade.

Absolutely zero chance penguins make that trade.
Sid is one of the best players of all time. Even now he is a top 10 center. Probably even top 5. And it is honestly laughable to have him on the second line lol. He would immediately be the best player mtl has had in the last 20+ years.
If you want sid AND letang it starts with slaf and mtls 1st in 2024 and 2025 plus the pens would take a flyer on dach.
That may begin to just to make up for the millions of dollars in revenue the pens would lose and the habs would gain.

Yeah not even close to reality.

Is Nurse overpaid, yes he very much is by 3-4 million dollars.

Is Nurse a top-4 d-man that is integral to Edmonton's success, 100% percent

Anderson is a bottom 6 player being paid 4 million too much, Savard is a bottom pairing and injury prone player.

The 1st round pick is also just absolute blasphemy. Not even close.

They have been arguably the 3rd most successful team (toss up between them and Dallas) in the western conference over the past 3 years besides the two cup winners??

No one is giving you a 2nd for the ghost of Dvorak. Injured and piled up 13 pts. A regular all star
