Just give you a small ACGM advice : when you make a trade, you can with the '' + '' mark on the player to add rentained salary on a player.

Assuming typo - even with these questionable trades, I think you meant maybe 26-27 for playoffs? Teams don’t typically jump 5 spots in a competitive division in one year.

Wrong pieces for Trevor Zegras. Kaiden Guhle is a very nice prospect with a #1 pair ceiling/potential, but one thing that the Ducks won't be asking for as the major piece of a Zegras trade is a LhD.

Reinbacher and the later of your two 2025 firsts would be fine, but be aware that half of your fellow Habs fans don't think that Zegras is anywhere near as good as Cole Caufield even though his stats through both last season and this season are better.

Someone please tell me what it’ll take for the redundancy of these Zegras trades to end 🤦‍♂️

Decline. And just take a look at just about any MTL post from the past 4 months for feedback

Honestly don't know why Habs fans want to rush this. Be bad again next year, have a ridiculous amount of cap space to throw around in one of the best FA classes of recent memory and then see where you land

I currently have nobody in it. Kinda like that. Probably can’t have it both ways though 🤷‍♂️

We're not trading Guhle or Beck for starters, but I'd gladly target those players with an adequate package. I don't see PHI moving TK without a colossal return though. Too much in terms of value going to ANA for Zegras, but also not the right pieces for ANA to be overly interested. I'll repeat here, we are not trading Guhle.

I agree with you completely. If Calgary does Montreal a favour and finishes out of the top 10 (for a draft spot) next year (perhaps unlikely) but does not make the playoffs (very likely) then Montreal may have 2 picks next year in the 5 to 16 range in a deep draft. This could really help with organizational needs (along with 2 picks in the first round this year). And, as you said, they could have $11,3M in additional cap space with Dvorak, Armia and Savard contracts being up. One more year of true rebuilding (playing poorly) and then start making the bigger changes in the 2024-2025 off season and beyond.

ghule straight up for Zegras is a loss for mtl, if you want to make a push for the playyoffs it would be good to not make trades that make the habs worse. Beck has exceeded expectation and added another layer of offense this year, hes going to be a part of the future. This team not only doesnt make the playoffs but pushes the timeline further back as it opens up a massive hole on the top pairing of our d.

Also Ylonen isnt being resigned for more than league min, and certainly not giving him a raise when he doesnt even slot into the top 12. None of this makes sense. Its gonna be another year of patience for the habs 25-26 will be the year they might push for a payoff spot.
