Dubois isn’t getting traded.

That’s a horrible trade too

Like it or not, DuBois is overpaid by about $2M so the first is just taking care of that issue. Another year like this and his value is going to take worse than it is.

I don’t see retention and the first

I don’t see Boston trying to acquire both Lindholm and Dubois. Personally, I prefer Lindholm

In the ancient Japanese ritual suicide called seppuku, you plunged a knife into your abdomen on the left and then drew it across your belly to the other side. Then, although that was enough to kill you, you had a "friend" standing behind you lop your head off with a samurai sword.

The $2 million retention for 7 years is the beheading.

Didn't Ullmark already reject LA as a trade destination, this rendering this moot?

My perspective is the first or $2M in retention. Not both

With an extension, he could change his list in exchange for security. Parameters will change once the extension is possible. Will it change his decision? No one knows either way

Fun fact: in his last 11 games, DuBois has scored 11 points and is plus 10. I wouldn't count my chickens before they're in the pot.

No he isn’t. Try MAYBE 1 million, if that.

Couturier for example has a much worse contract and older but no one says anything cause everyone thinks Dubois is a cancer which is a joke in its self.

Oh my god a player wanted out of CLB (don’t blame him) and again out of WPG again don’t blame him.

Dubois is doing just fine in LA. Sorry you hate the guy LOL

Please I beg you Capfriendly, stop posting PLD trades.

Blake can't trade PLD at a loss or he loses his job.

A fair PLD trade (considering what LA paid) would be laughed out of any of these threads.

He has a NMC in July, unless Blake is moved, there is like zero chance. There are plenty of places to crap on PLD, but do we have to do this 3-4 times a week?

Exactly, Boston needs to take a stab at Lindholm before trying for PLD, once the free agency opens PLD can't be traded. These conversations don't really go anywhere. PLD is stuck in LA, and he's improving, so it's more and more likely he stays put and LA trys to regain value.

Funny how you like lindholm who is 29/30 and will probably cost the same as Dubois lol.

They have similar attributes.

PLD is starting to come around, took longer than expected but the guy seems happy to be here. On Akil Thomas's first NHL goal last night PLD passed him the puck then PLD went and got the puck for him and had a huge smile on his face and seemed genuinely happy for the guy. Doesn't seem very cancerous to me. His points are starting to go up playing with Moore and Arvidsson, considering the guy has played with rookie Laferriere all season and every night his left winger changed doesn't make developing chemistry easy. Coming from the Jets and playing with either Ehlers or Conor to a massive downgrade in Laferriere clearly has made his numbers drop but when the guy is playing with seasoned NHLers like Arvy or Moore he is producing. We are content with keeping PLD especially if a return in a trade like this comes at a huge cost, at this point if Boston came to LA and said 1 for 1 PLD for Ullmark I honestly might just keep PLD and hunt for a cheaper goaltender next season.

fun fact: a 10 game stretch doesn't justify an 8 year contract.

Lindholm plays defense, hasn’t dogged it on the ice when he didn’t get what he wanted, and isn’t viewed as a malcontent.

He’s older, but he likely isn’t going to cost us as much in terms of AAV and Ullmark should net a good package.

I’d be open to a PLD and a 2024 first (or equivalent value) for Ullmark before the deadline. I could see both sides being interested in that if Ullmark is willing to waive for an extension.

The reality is PLD cant be worth his contract in LA. No third center is worth 8.5M and his character red flags are going to make his value questionable. Another year with this performance and he’ll be viewed in the same manner as Huberdeau.

Nobody ever suggested, let alone said, that it did.

I was responding to the trade idea presented in this ACGM.

That’s a fair assessment as long as you are willing to accept that 2 of the the 3 things below are happening to your team.

1. Walk away from Roy
2. Not sign Byfield to a long term contract
3. Not bring in a replacement wing for Arvidsson

I think at this point we've accepted Roy is gone after this season, meaning we will be able to sign Byfield long term. And with signing Byfield long term we can still resign Arvy. Just going to have to do what we did this year, sign 2 goalies at a cheap price.

PLD to boston is just a non-starter. this is likely the bare minimum it would take for the bruins to consider, and is obviously a hard pill to swallow for LA

Roy is not the priority.
Byfield will get signed.
Arvidsson may or may not resign and could sign someone similar imo.

What’s Arvidssen signing for if Byfield signs a long term deal? Losing Roy is going to hurt

Nah. Just acknowledge his complications with the 7 year, $8.5M AAV contract and his production level plus his history. Nothing more. I believe that there would be reason to want him with the appropriate compensation for the 2M overpaid that he is.

I’ve been more reasonable with my criticism of DuBois than most fans of other teams.
