MTL would be paying the WPG pick just to dump Anderson. Seth Jones brings more offense alone vs Anderson. Not sure why CHI would do this, beyond the point that Jones nixes it with his NMC.

Do t get why Chicago would do this. They need someone to log minutes on their back end and Jones is a good fit

Jones doesn't waive for Montreal. Chicago wouldn't use up a retention slot for 6 years. Chicago would want a much better return. This barely pays for dumping Anderson.

Just to add to what other people have said, I can't see a team retaining for 6 years. Not to mention Jones will be blocking MTLs up and comers a lot sooner than he'll be doing that in Chicago.
