There is zero and I mean zero chance Yzerman trades a 1st to get rid of a 1 year contract. If he can not play he will be on LTIR or he plays, but no chance of that happening

Unless you're offering trade value commesurate with that of a top-line scoring winger, you're not getting Laine. Whether or not you think he is that right now is irrelevant; that's his value to the Jackets, and so that's what the ask would be. Trying to get Jiricek as a throw-in is just kind of a jerk move.
