Sens should take that honestly.... Appleton is a solid bottom 6er. Perfetti can grow into a good top 6er and Rutger would be a solid top liner when he develops. Plus a pick upgrade.

This seems fair honestly I am pretty high on Perfetti and McGroarty is tearing it up in College. Granted I'd want a first/early 2nd instead of a late 2026 second but that's my only complaint

Respectfully. I do not think he's a captain...at this stage in his career. You can't strip him of the C. Either keep going like you are or trade him. I think you get a PILE for him if he's moved. It would suck to say goodbye...but this is a nice-looking team.

This doesn't really suit any of Winnipeg's needs next year. The Jets still have two top6 LWs after Perfetti is included (Ehlers and KFC).

1LW is not a position the Jets are desperate enough to move McGroarty AND Perfetti to fill. KFC and Ehlers are doing a good enough job in those spots. I think a 1 or 2RD is the only player that would make Chevy bite and trade both of them for.

I would rather keep Appleton over Iafallo tbh. Lower cap hit and has better synergy with Lowry.

I think the Jets would try to re-sign DeMelo and Stanley before bringing in new UFA D.

Appleton is a great, cheap, bottom 6 piece on a contender. If Brady is being moved out then the team is admitting they’re no where near that. At that point Appleton would only pose value if they’re flipping him back out immediately.

Oddly enough the deal is likely closer without him. Perfetti, McGroarty and a 1st is a more appealing base than Perfetti, McGroarty, Appleton and a 2nd.

Brady’s a playoff ready buzzsaw with term on his deal at a dollar that’s not astronomical.

Perfetti is in his D+4 season starting to flirt with 20G and 40P while in need of a new contract. McGroarty looks like a player but hasn’t played any pro games yet so maybe another year or two before he truly arrives in the NHL. A 1st would need to be ‘25 and likely very late so that player realistically wouldn’t sniff NHL games until 2027 at the earliest.

By 2027 when all three players may be in the lineup at the same time in Ottawa, you’re already 3 playoff runs deep with Brady putting up 30-40G 70-80P seasons and playing freely without a letter on his chest leading the league in hits and pims, laying everything on the line for Winnipeg to get a cup.

I shouldn’t have to sell you on this, would really rather keep him anyway.
