Why would you pay that for Kyle Palmieri?

Not firing meatball might be the final straw for me.

He is an excellent development coach and has helped several players immensely.

But he is out coached tactically and doesn't seem to have any answers.

He's a good coach at the beginning on a rebuild to get young players going, but he can't coach when it matters. Unfortunately

Also, his GM/owner doing nothing for 2 years doesn't help

He got the rebuild off the ground but it hasn't gone anywhere since. Granted it's not just his fault and the whole coaching staff needs to be gone. Maybe if they could get Lindy as an assistant for Donny, I'd be fine with him staying.

I just think at this point, Donny has lost the locker room and there's no coming back from it.

I still don't think that Kevyn Adams has done a bad job at all. Terry on the other hand has clearly got a hold on this team that he just needs to let go.

I could absolutely see Colton being the Avs cap casualty this off-season. I don’t love this return though, not saying that your offer here is bad from a value stand point (even though i think it’s a bit light). Just that i would like something a little bit different. Closer to the value of a late first round pick. Could be 2nd’s for example.

How about a former 1st round pick (Peyton Krebs) and that 2nd?

The owner who is too cheap to fire granato/hire real coach is probably not going to let the sabres spend to the cap after the season ticket renewal numbers tanked.

If the Avs saw some untapped potential in Krebs to be able to grow into a 3C then sure, value wise this is fine.

Worth noting though, COL passed on Krebs in the 2019 draft and went with Newhook instead. Don’t know how much to read into that.

Point taken.

I think Colton would fit in real nice as the Sabres third line center. In fact, I would go as far as offer up a 2025 1st and either Krebs or a second rounder to get the job done.

Probably a little too light on the offer for Colton imo. He could end up being the cap casualty but I think the Avs would want a bit more.
