Definitely not, the whole reason there are rumours of Chychrun’s availability is the logjam Ottawa has at LD and how thin the RD is.

A deal centred around another LD wouldn’t actually solve anything, just make the team worse with a couple picks significantly lower than the ones they gave up a year ago.

laugh You're at least a 1st round pick short there bud, Detroit has strong interest in Jakob Chychrun and blows that offer away.

No way Caps do that. They'll wait a year for Chyrch to hit UFA.

Why would Ottawa let him hit free agency when he's already said multiple times that he wants to stay.

Either he get dealt or he re-signs. Or he gets dealt and re-signs there. The likelihood of him hitting free agency is low.. very low.

So just like Debrincat 2.0 Sens fans think there getting more back for a player then what they gave up for him even though Chyrchrun is less valuable now due to his contract length LMAO

Was more along the lines of thinking the Sens try and move money elsewhere because there big money players arent producing like big money players and they try and shake things up and get a cost controlled solid top 4 D

I mean he got traded for a 1,2,2 before with multiple years left on a cheap deal. His value isn't worth that now with one year left unless he signs an extension lol

This might sound trivial but if he shot the other way then maybe but realistically he wouldnt play ahead of Sanderson and Chabot. If they move Chychrun its to balance out the defence. I dont know if TVR or Jensen would be appealing enough for the Sens to pull the trigger. Not sure if Washington would have the pieces. Maybe something with Chelsey or Cristall, Leonard if they can really force something.

Cat had no intention of re-signing and left the team with no options as a RFA. Chychrun has another year on his deal and has said at every opportunity how much he wants to stay in Ottawa long term.

If anything the smart move to maximize assets would be to keep Chychrun and move Chabot, hes year older with likely a higher aav and 4 yrs left. Return would be more favorable.

That's fine. Chychurn is good, he's not worth the trade though.
