BradyChychrunBranny Out - KyrouFabbroEhlers In

Created by: PLDGEY
Team: 2024-25 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 16, 2024
Published: Apr. 17, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
For all the trades sending Brady out, I would maximize it by sending him to the team who would ostensibly value him the most and whom have a "distressed" asset in Kyrou.

You could use the STL 1st instead of the BOS 1st, I also have heard WPG looking for a speedy winger with cost control, so Joseph could be an option as well.

I want Ehlers to play with Stu, and I am tired of WPG under-valuing him.

The STL one is good value, but STL shouldn't do it.

Brother, in what world is Brady worth Snuggerud and that 1st more than Kyrou? Because it sure ain't this one.

STL says no. The separation between Kyrou and Tkachuk isn't that big. I wouldn't even say that they have a first in value difference.

Frankly, I find it odd that almost everyone just assumes as fact that Brady is worth more at all.

He has one season past the 80 mark and his brother helps his percieved stock quite a bit (not that it should).

Both have defensive woes.
Similar output scoring, just different styles.
Similar AAV, but Kyrou has more term
You could argue that Tkachuk is going to be better for a locker room, but I don't see this being something that changes the value much. There is no way that Ottawa is the posterchild of what a lockeroom should like.

The value is pretty similar in most respects.

Yeah, pretty much all that, but Kyrou is a net defensive positive now. So many O zone and neutral zone takeaways, and even big back checks now. He's never going to be a Selke guy with chance suppression, but he makes a lot of plays that turn us from defense to quick offense. And that's certainly not nothing.

I agree that he hasn't been a defensive concern to me this year and there have been a few games that I can remember him really hounding people on back checks. I am higher than most St. Louis fans on Kyrou and think we should keep him unless we are doing a Hockey trade 1 for 1 that just makes sense for both sides. Not likely to materialize.

The stigma of previous seasons will probably stick to Kyrou for a little bit among the more casual fanbase. There is also a percentage of people who watch the Blues that think if the player doesn't hit people hard than they are not giving effort/worth keeping. This is obviously a silly concept and there is need for people Kyrou just like B. Tkachuk.
