I mean it's worth a shot. Maybe Treliving's strategy of low picks for big guys who can't score will work better than Dubas' of spending high picks for small guys who can score

They both involved 5 guys making 55%+ of the cap so IDK
Traded a 6th for him, while the 6th may turn out good, I am high on Webber. 6'6 who just blocks shots consistently. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a look in a year or two.
And in that series vs. FLA we saw the damage those guys did. FLA just could not get much done with these guys preventing net drives.
Its a copy cat league and teams will see okay what do I need to help my team win lord Stanley by copying what the other guy did. Now yes small Dman can work but they need to be Makar level gifted

I think that small defensemen work they just need to be very technically sound... Spurgeon, Orlov, and Fox come to mind.

Trust me unless your name is Makar not many teams have used Small Dman and won cups in recent years
Other than the Avs everyone's big
And Orlov may be a bit short but 214 pounds makes up for it. Wild meanwhile no cup with Spurgeon and while it could work with him he would be an exception and fox is up there with Makar but still no cup out of it yet.
Having a football team on the backend makes it hard for opponents to get to the front of the net, create plays, among other things

We saw it during VGK run last year
I mean that's totally fair... The Hurricanes blue line is great and everybody besides Orlov is 6'1 or bigger

Every TB defenseman on the B2B cups was 6'+ 200+ pounds. You're right little guy can work but an entire blueline of little guys doesn't. You need the Trouba and Miller in there with Fox to really make it work
