Regardless, he's arguably the piece that's easiest to deal and easiest to replace at a cheaper price and the Avs would almost certainly have to accept the deal. Works for both teams and that NTC doesn't kick in until the second year and likely that's part of the reason it's there from the Avs PoV....to give them that option.
