Montreal has one spot left next season to retain. They aren’t going to waste it on Anderson. There’s no need to move him if it’s gonna cost us to dump him or if we have to retain.

Colton has a full NTC this summer, can’t see him waiving it only a year after signing his new deal with a top contender. Also can’t see Colorado trading him when they need centres.

Don’t have Jersey winning the lottery? No way Lindstrom drops to them.

Colton would come to NJ if he could he's from NJ and is probably the biggest devils fan playing in the NHL

Trade could be made before the NTC kicks in and if there is one team he specifically might waive it for if after it kicks in then it would be NJ. Avs would likely have to accept.

What many seems to not understand that while he isn't worth 5.5m he's still good player at 40-50% retaind so he'll cost to trade for retaind

This hometown narrative with every player is ridiculous. Not every player wants to play at home. But every player wants to win and Colorado gives him a far better chance to do that than New Jersey.

He signed his deal with a NTC in the second year for a reason - he knew they’d be in a cap crunch and didn’t wanna be dealt. I’d bet my bank account that he wouldn’t waive it

I take different names in each ACGM with that #10 pick. Whole list of guys that could go 5-15 range.

Miles Wood was here for years…similar game (just a lefty).

Clarke is a decent prospect. Can skate well, play center and wing, and can pile up shot totals. Not too exciting, but probably our best forward prospect other than Gritsyuk.

He means nothing to our prospect pool, you ain't getting a power forward at 3m for that (no matter how much anderson is struggling)

Their own fanbase says cuts are needed and he's the guy. Not us.
We'd love him and just after SCFs can be moved. As noted he's a bug NJDs fan. Think Tuch and Greenway going to Buf. Tuch was a Knight, no one wants to leave there and yet. Seems like a good fit for both squads for different reasons

Colton is one of the few who has been vocal about it. Regardless, he's arguably the piece that's easiest to deal and easiest to replace at a cheaper price and the Avs would almost certainly have to accept the deal. Works for both teams and that NTC doesn't kick in until the second year and likely that's part of the reason it's there from the Avs PoV....to give them that option.

Big difference between walking to a college arena in perpetual 30 year rebuild and accepting a trade to a team that a lot of people view as a future cup winner
