Happy playoffs for those who celebrini

Initial Creation Date: Apr. 20, 2024

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I’ve done this kind of thing before, and I think it should be noted that it’s probably not a great idea for anyone involved. That being said, let’s trade Seth Jones to Dallas.

This trade is done at the draft under these circumstances, the hawks don’t win the lottery, and they have Artem Leshunov as the BPA at 3 or 4.

Yeah. Probably not.

If they did it would be cap circumvention. Probably shouldn’t have randomly tact that on at the end.

Since you are here, what are you expecting the leafs to do? My bracket says rd 2 is as far as they go.

Why would we need to do that when he expires come 2024-2025. If anythinng let the contract expire keep the useful player and pick and just have a **** tonne of cap for 2025-2026

I don’t predict the playoffs, hockey is too much of a coin flip to start guessing at anything. They’ve beat all of Boston, Florida, and Tampa before.. they could easily do it again. Or they could lose. Too many factors that are out of hand come into play, I just watch and try to enjoy

I think you missed out on an opportunity for a good ACGM title. Happy Playoffs for those who Celebrini.

I understand you probably don’t want to jinx them, but don’t be a coward. Do they win the cup, or what round do they stop?

As much as I'd love to see it, I don't think DAL would give up 2 first round picks for Jones. I think Davidson might take whatever return he could to get him out of Chicago, where he clearly doesn't want to be. Dallas is a place he definitely would waive to go as well.

6.25% chance they win the cup and 50% chance they win the first round

Rather just keep Jones if that's all he gets in a trade. All that retention costs at least a first, so your trading Jones to upgrade a late 2nd to a late 1st and two more undersized prospects who are far from certain NHL's. Sign Marchy and Demelo and call it an off season. Still a W if they both sign in Chicago.

As difficult as it would be to swallow this retention for Jones for six years, I'd do it DAL would. Yeah, it's not much (two future, low first rounders; one of them just an upgrade over the VAN 2nd this year), but better than paying $9.5mm over those same years, IMO... Some retention may be the only way we get out of that contract.

I'd love to see the Marchessault and DeMelo signings as you have them, too. I agree with Hawksguy: they'd be big wins by themselves.

Cheers
