First of all, Canes pass. Say what you want about Armia, he is still a 4th liner. He would only be blocking guys who can have a much bigger impact like Blake and Nadeau. Farrell I think might end up as a decent bottom 9 winger, but once again, the Canes have better wing prospects, at least 4-5 off the top of my head, that he would be taking opportunities from. Those picks aren’t good enough to make up for the lack of quality. Canes aren’t looking for a futures based package if they deal Necas. They would be looking for a top 6 swap or upgrade. As has been said many times before, the Canes and Habs are not good trade partners when it comes to Necas.

What about Zegras?
3 way trade with ANA
IMO Zegras is an upgrade on Necas
MTL gets someone for Slaf to grow with off ice as he has with Canadians born with Czech heritage best friends Xhekaj and Kovacevic
The languages are different but not by much like Acadian vs France's Proper French but i digress.

ANA would get to land a massive pot they've been seeking
Zegras Value being down under his new Coach i think lowers his value enough that CAR could chip in and still come ahead on top
Issue becomes is Zegras someone CAR thinks could fit in their system ?

I understand your point, but I belive that Blake and Nadeau can pass somes times in the AHL : they haved a great season in the NCAA, but I don't really think that they can be constant positively in the NHL. I 100% know that Armia is a 4th line player, but he haves a natural fit and connection with KK (and he can give him confidence in himself).

A 14th overall selection is a lot. Don't really expect GM's makes somes swipe (1vs1), they aren't anymore open with that. Also, don't forget that a 14th overall selection can be include in any trade for other assets who can be a great fit for Carolina.

I see the Canes using this pick in a package for Buchnevich.

that is a ton for the sens to move up 2 spots. We need a defenceman absolutely, but our prospect pool sucks too much to move from 5-7 at the expense of dropping from like mid 20 to mid 50 imo

That's likely the cost for grow up in the top 5.

Sens pass. Top 10 of the draft is defense heavy imo and Montreal is taking a forward no matter what lol. Sens will have a very good defenseman prospect available no matter what. Maybe if Levshunov is on the board when Montreal picks they'd be interested otherwise I can't see it.

no, we need prospects as much if not more than the habs do. Either that or we use the pick in a trade that can help us now, theres just no reason to trade it to move up 2 spots, that accomplishes nothing
