Trades
1.
MTL
  1. 2024 1st round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Mailloux, Savard, Kovacevic, room for Reinbacher maybe Guhle. There is no spots left on the right for Barron and he cant be sent down w/o waivers. Rubber meets the road
BUF
  1. Barron, Justin [RFA Rights]
  2. 2024 1st round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Buffalo cant attract free agents and they have too many LHD. Bandaids on the right in Erik Johnson and Connor Clifton were a disaster that ended up in a weirdly timed trade for Byram @TDL and giving away their most productive center. Thompson will be 'healthy' and they have to stop this endless collection of assets and actually pay a price to improve.
2.
MTL
  1. Rossi, Marco
Additional Details:
Another deal in the vein of Newhook. Not sure he's what MTL needs but it's a Hughes move to buy low here as Russo confirmed that Rossi is being shopped.
MIN
  1. Evans, Jake
  2. Mesar, Filip
Additional Details:
Evans is a lesser Ross Colton that can play on your pk with great speed and playoffs pedigree. Mesar just had a brilliant OHL playoffs campaign where he is 2nd in scoring and the Wild need offence.
3.
MTL
  1. Konecny, Travis
Additional Details:
My personal favourite. I'd overpay here in a second
PHI
  1. Farrell, Sean
  2. 2025 1st round pick (CGY)
  3. 2025 2nd round pick (PIT)
4.
MTL
  1. Gourde, Yanni
Additional Details:
Habs get their stability at 3rd line center with the local kid
SEA
  1. Dvorak, Christian
  2. 2025 3rd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Kraken get 4 years younger with cap savings at same term
5.
EDM
  1. Kovacevic, Johnathan
  2. 2025 3rd round pick (NJD)
6.
7.
MTL
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (MTL)
WPG
  1. Armia, Joel ($1,700,000 retained)
  2. Primeau, Cayden
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (COL)

While the Buffalo idea is good in principle, I can't see them doing that for Barron. Value isn't there. They're more likely to move the pick all together for a proven entity.

Yeah I was going to say the same thing lol if anything that’s an underpay. TK is going to command a top 15 1st and a good prospect or the Flyers will just re-sign him.

Can't see MN being interested in that. Evans obviously doesn't move the needle whatsoever, so it's basically Rossi for Mesar. They'd have to be extremely bullish on Mesar.

Every single deal favors MTL a little too much. With the exception of the Struble deal, which I can't fathom the logic for.

All teams that aren't Montreal say no to overpaying for mediocrity.

Baron isn’t the type of player they need.

Can Buffalo pay for something better than a a maybe in Barron? I’d rather not get anything back for a proven RHD vs a maybe, and by your own description Buffalo should too, except this ain’t it.

"well buffalo has to spend their assets eventually" isn't a reason they'd do this trade. Pass

Rossi is not a buy-low option, though. The guy just scored 21 goals in his rookie season and might be a Calder finalist. Rossi's value is as high as it's been ever since being drafted.
