TOR needs a James Neal type of trade

Created by: gpmack95
Team: 2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 25, 2024
Published: Apr. 25, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
In 2014, Jim Rutherford traded James Neal to NSH for Patric Hornqvist and Nick Spaling. I feel the Leafs need that style of trade involving Mitch Marner.

Overreacting to a series that hasn’t gone your way when you’ve been the better team isn’t the way to go. & selling low on Marner doesn’t help either.

The Leafs need a true #1 goalie and they’ll be fine

Get ready to duck. Bro, you actually posted a Leafs trade they'd be justified in hammering.

I don't disagree with any of your trade ideas...but I think the reset needs to start from the top...enough Shanahan? For sure a new coach = new direction / culture / etc...and geez please give the C to Rielly or Matthews next year.

I haven't posted anything in regards to end of season roster moves for the Leafs because I don't believe they are done just yet...nothing will surprise me from them getting blown out the next two games to them blowing Boston out the next 3

No, we're not trading pick #35 for Timothy Liljegren.

With Mintyukov, Zellweger and LaCombe, we have a sufficient amount of offensively-gifted defensemen. What we need on the right side are more guys like Radko Gudas, but top-4 quality. Brett Pesce would be ideal, but I won't hold my breath.

This has been an entertaining series between two flawed teams. Toronto could use a more physical top pairing defenseman and a better goalie (there isn’t a team in the playoffs that doesn’t have some holes that the cap limits them from filling).

I will argue that Samsanov has been in the top half of Maple Leaf players in games 2 and 3. That Frederic goal was a mental error, but he’s been better than a lot of goalies I’ve watched this playoff.

You’ve run into a hot goalie in Swayman. Curious to see if Montgomery gives him the next start.

Then more reason not to add a Dman who is softer than all the ones we currently have.

Fowler might be the softest defenceman in the league
