Rob Blake has confirmed that the Kings will not be buying out or trading PLD this summer.

If Blake retains anything on PLD he gets fired.

Samsanov had worse numbers than two goaltenders on the Kings who made $1.85M collectively.

For point per dollar, Kings are better off with PLD than Dvorak and Anderson

Akira Shmid would be behind Portillo and Ingham, no need for him.

Nobody is tying up a retention slot for 7 years on anyone, and PLD's trade value at present is whatever the lowest value you can think of, then half of that.

Half of that, too.

He struggled breaking .900, needs time to develop. Kings need to give that development time to others.

0.921 last year….0.922 in playoffs.

We’d be up for Turcotte, just not sure Schmid is the guy we move there.

Pass, Turcotte has a better chance making our roster than Clarke. Blake said they are interested in particular in getting Turcotte, Thomas, and Clarke in the lineup they earned it.

To do either would be admitting he made a $68M mistake one year into the contract.

Which would pretty much be the end of his management career.

That’s the only reason you don’t buy him out.
