New idea. How about Kurtis MacDermid? He's played NHL minutes this year and can plug that LHD hole. Yes, he just got sent down, but so did Fantenberg and Jokinen, so it was probably just a cap-saving move.

So 2019 1st + 2019 2nd + MacDermid for Matheson.

Hello, Bruins Assistant GM here.

I read your description and I saw you are looking for a bottom pair defenseman better than Marc Staal. Here in Boston we have Adam McQuaid getting healthy and returning to the ice, so that makes either him or Kevan Miller available. McQuaid was put on the 2nd pair in last nights game with Torey Krug, so he might be an excellent pickup, however Kevan Miller has played all year on the 3rd pair at RD but also has the flexibility to play both sides of the ice. I'm not sure how much the head GM values them, but they should be a somewhat affordable resource who's primary objective is keeping the puck out of the net. They are both excellent PKers and if Chara is in the box on a 5 vs 3 they've played together as a tandem in recent years.

I don't know the official price. I'm not positive that we'd prefer to trade him over McQuaid, given his ability to play both sides of the ice as a RHD. If we decide to move Miller I'll circle back around and let you know.

We're not interested in getting ripped off in a Grzelcyk deal. Your offers have been embarrassing thus far. A 2nd rounder for a player drafted in the 3rd round who's passed literally every test he's been given and is almost as good as Torey Krug right now? I think you should be able to tell how foolish that is to someone who watches both Krug and Grzelcyk every game. Do you also think you can get Torey Krug for a 2nd lol? Please stop with these offers for both of our sakes, it's just sad and theres almost zero chance Grzelcyk goes in reverse at any point. Guys who are captain's of their juniors or College teams almost never decline from what they do in their 1st couple of years and they usually get much better which projects him as a superior player to Krug in 2 or 3 years which would allow us to trade or move on from Krug.

I'm not that mad if you don't know how well Grzelcyk has been playing, but if you know how good he is... shouldn't you be slightly embarrassed of your offer?
