Ideally
I like this, except Kahun should be top 6, or at least top 9, I wouldn't be surprised if he scores 50+ points this year and Simon needs to get into the lineup too

Honestly the Pens can just retain 50% of JJ’s cap hit and send him to the moon. As long as he’s not on this team, I’m thrilled.

Shattenkirk fits the team well but Gudbranson was playing great, do you really want to get rid of him?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vic997</b></div><div>what's your point? I honestly think Murray is just as good if not better than MAF.
The Pens did not have bad teams throughout those 3-4 years. In fact, I'd even say those teams were even better than our current lineup today.
MAF picked up his game afterwards and played extremely well when he was splitting with Murray in the playoffs.</div></div>
what's the point? Exactly what I said is the point. MAF was sent packing because Murray didn't blow it in the playoffs year after year.

The Staal Trade was so important because of the trade tree it started. Sutter got flipped for Bonino and Clendenning was part of the Hagelin Trade.

True that. As good as JR was during the cup runs he has matched that with stupidity the last couple years.

As good as the Neal trade was(and it was absolute robbery) the Staal trade you could argue was even better. Sutter turned into Bonino and him Dumoulin were huge in their cup runs!

and now NJ is LOADED and could make a serious run for the Metro. Still don't think they beat the Caps out but the way Pitt is right now, they'd be lucky to make the playoffs. Defense is horrible and that bottom six may be worse. SMH

I think Hall will take a discount if it means a better chance to win the cup. He desperately wants to make a run in the playoffs.

NHL Prospect Rankings Anaheim Ducks 131
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>I think Comtois, Tracey, Zegras, Steel, Groulx, Terry and Sprong will all turn out to be quality NHL players. Jones and Sherwood are on the bubble. The three defensemen will all be top-4, too.</div></div>
Zegras is a given. I think he'll end up a consistent 70-90 pt 1C. His vision and passing looks set to be elite at the NHL level, but his ability to harass and poke-check has also impressed me greatly. My only question is whether he has the leadership skills necessary to take this team deep in the playoffs. Only time and more experience will tell. However, for me, Comtois is the prototypical modern-day powerforward. I think he's going to be one of the best players in the league at his position. A winger that can post 30+ goals while doing it all. He has the mobility to harass (something Ritchie sucks at), but the size and skill to battle hard in the corner. His hands are great, especially around the net and his excellent balance means he's difficult to move once he's positioned himself. Don't get me wrong, he has his weaknesses, but the areas he excels at are exactly the ones you need to be a top NHLer.
My only concern about our prospect pool is that 3 of the top 4 are playmakers. We need more players with a scoring touch. Hence, I don't understand those who put up these trades where Sprong is moved for like 4th round pick. The kid is the definition of a finisher and could end up becoming a 30-40 goal scorer IMO. He has to bring up the other parts of his game if he's to play the minutes necessary to achieve such a feat. In that sense, it is all contingent on him continuing to progress. However, it is really hard to argue with his goal production last year.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AFOX10900</b></div><div>With those rules for who is a prospect, how is this team 15th, Terry Steel Comtois Lundestrom Mahura Larsson Guhle Zegras and Tracey would all be debated to be the pens best spec then they have Dostal Jones BOG, the two LD's (bc they needed more apparently) were decent picks on the second and fourth iirc, I'd say this team is top 10 easily, though I haven't went over every single teams prospects and it does depend on whether you look at prospects ceilings or NHL readiness, also I might have to look at his GP again, but Kase ik is under 25, and I think (due to injury) has only played like 80-90 games... He's definitely not a prospect, but by those limitations i think he might be ?? and he's already considered a top 20-30 RW by some (I'm not going to make that argument here, but he's fantastic)</div></div>
Our prospect pool is deep, but doesn't have as much high-end talent as others i.e. COL, NYR, NJ, BUF (I believe Dahlin is still a prospect according to the rules). If these rankings were weighted for positions in the draft, we'd be #1 and by a considerable margin.

"He's a decent bottom pair dmen" again no he's not. He's horrible. He literally kills all offense. Malkin struggled so much when Johnson was out there because he couldn't move the puck. Honeslty if you think Johnson is "decent" you really need to pick a new sport

This is way to far in the future to figure out.
Especially since they will be working out a new TV contract. Their current contract of $200 million per season is looking at a 3-4x growth it's estimated.
Mainly because they are going to put it on more than 1 channel and get at least double on the NBC deal. It could we worth far more, I have seen some estimates of close to 1 billion per season in total.
That's an almost 25 million per team per season increase.
Half of which will go to players so that's adding 12.5 million to the current cap.
It's hard to say how this will effect things going forward. But it's pretty clear trying to estimate anything cap wise going this far forward is very difficult to do.

2.8 per year is very good value like I said</div></div>
You need to consider NSH's window to compete for the Cup. They have a good shot to win now and the low AAV was essential to that effort. Same holds true w/ Tanev in PIT. Both teams are in win-now mode and consider cap space to be more important than term. I actually love this deal for NSH. Poile gets an A+ in my opinion.

Yeah that’s honestly so crazy...I have a suggestion make the Penguins from the lockout year with Morrow and Iginla. How that group didn’t win a cup will forever be beyond me.

If they’re getting a 30 point player locked up at this number until he’s 32, that’s a steal. He’s young enough that this term isn’t going to really hurt the Preds, and his AAV is low enough that this is gonna be next to nothing by the time it’s up
